Seven people are in hospital following a huge fire at a construction site in Canning Town.
The fire in Silvertown Way was first reported to the London Fire Brigade call centre at 8.23am this morning (June 4).
More than 25 calls alerting the emergency services to the incident were taken.
The fire had broken out in the ground floor commercial unit of a ten storey building development, resulting in a person having to be rescued by ladder.
Huge plumes of thick black smoke were seen rising from the site and surrounding the base of a crane. It was previously believed that only one person had been injured in the fire, but the London Ambulance Service has confirmed they treated ten people for injuries.
Paramedics were called to the fire at 8.28am and arrived in less than three minutes.
Multiple ambulance crews, incident response officers, an advanced paramedic and a Hazardous Area Response Team (HEART) were at the scene.

They issued a warning to people in the area to stay away and to keep their doors and windows closed.
