Images of Portuguese striker Ronaldo being chased by a security guard on Monday, to check his ID is spreading on twitter, as he made his way into the Puskas Arena in Budapest ahead of his country’s match against Hungary.
The obligation of mask wearing for players and staff meant it was possible for some people to sneak their way in without identification, but surely not Ronaldo, who is one of the most famous people in the world.
The Hungarian security staff either was hired to do the job with no knowledge of whom Ronaldo is, or he just wanted to get so close to the football ace and share his atmosphere, with the easy excuse that he was just doing his job.

Ronaldo went on to score twice in the match, making him the tournament’s all-time leading goal-scorer ,and putting him within touching distance of the record for the most international goals ever scored by a player.
Only yesterday, Christiano Ronaldo removed two Coca-Cola bottles during a press conference at the European Championship, leading to a $4bn fall in the share price of the drinks company.
The Portugal captain is health fanatic, and instead urged journalists to drink water.
