By Gavin Mackintosh-
Rogue landlord, Robert Earnest crow has accused Essex police of being biased, reckless, and putting his life at risk in the hands of a violent drunk.
Mr.Crow, locked in a legal battle with Southend Council and his neighbours was in a rage of anger when he spoke to The Eye Of Media.Com On Wednesday, complaining bitterly about maltreatment from Essex Police. Crow said he was scared for his life as a violent resident of his attempted to break his front door in anger after he switched off the electrical mains to the downstairs flat were a 6ft 7 inch Lithuanian male and his wife reside. Mr.Crow says he turned off the mains because he has asked the male who has been living there free for over 3 years to leave the property after he failed to pay him any rent.
Ranting in a fit of anger, mr Crow said : ”Is somebody going to stand up for the truth and justice or not? Can’t you see I am being victimised by the police and the whole system, how is that I was put in fear of my life and police took no action? My front door was clearly damaged, by the police said it was easily fixable and did not arrest the guy who was clearly a threat and danger to my life and safety of those in the property. I could see my door vibrating as he kicked my door, I was really frightened for my safety. And what did the police do? They let him go, and he came back and started attacking my door again.
I had to call the police a second time, but all they did was speak to me and then speak to the bloke, and they let him go again. He was clearly drunk and disorderly, this was sheer bias and incompetence on the part of the police, he angrily said. Crow says police eventually asked him if there was anywhere else he could go, before driving him to an area where he said his aunty lived.
”He came back screaming and kicking my door a third time, I was in so much fer this time, I decided to turn the electricity and water supply back on because he had managed to kick the side bolt off, and he would have been in if I gave him the chance. I shouted out that I have put the electric back on, but this is wrong. I am getting no support whatsoever from the police, but I am being taken to court for not kicking people out”.
A neighbour who was disturbed by the incident told The Eye Of media,Com: I was awoken at around 12.30. He(the drunk) was kicking the door and police were round about 3 times. I didn’t get to sleep until 3.30am. Just about managed work today”
NOTORIOUS
The notorious landlord is under a criminal behaviour(CBO) order that prohibits him from having visitors or residents at his property, but has defied those orders, citing an infringement of his human rights to which he also claims that the order is unenforceable. he said: ”The idea that as an old man, I should be able to force out much younger individuals who refuse to leave is unreasonable. Even when I have changed the locks, one person stays in and lets the others in when they shout out for them.
However, neighbours in the respectable area of Southend On Sea are fed up the constant disturbance to their peace caused by the nuisance residents of mr.Crow. Another neighbour told us: ”It is mr. Crow’s fault, it is he who selected these people. He is simply incapable of managing that property It is an excuse him saying
CO-OPERATION
In 2018, Crow agreed to co-operate with this publication in taking advice to keep his property in suitable condition for his sake and that of his neighbours, whilst we examine his complaints against Southend Borough Council. He has since made slow progress in improving his environment, and is often very argumentative when told anything he doesn’t want to hear.
The 70 year old landlord further insists that the CBO order should have been kept on hold whilst he has an appeal for the conviction pending. Mr Crow laments the inaction of the police whom he says acted recklessly by not arresting his resident who was drunkenly damaged his front door and put his partner and three other residents at the property in fear when he tried to force an entry through the front door in anger that his electric supply had been turned off. Angry about the incident, mr Crow said:
” This is a prime example of the irrationality of the Criminal Behaviour order. I asked one of my residents to leave the property, he refuses, I then turn off his electric supply, and he subjects me to an ordeal of fear by damaging the door. The police refuse to arrest him or ask him to leave, yet I am expected to get rid of them.
The police acted recklessly and are biased against me. My partner was in the property and scared. Another lady present was also terrified. The police promised to give her(his partner) a lift so she could go home, but they drove without her, and drove the drunken man to his auntie’s, but he came back. This was terrible, I’ll put in a complaint, but they will probably ignore it. I reckon The Eye Of The Media(The Eye Of Media) should look into this, this was thoroughly unprofessional of them, but I am treated by everyone as the bad guy by everyone, including yourselves”.
DISTURBANCES
Mr.crow’s neighbours are sick of the series of disturbances on their much sought after road and are desperate to see him jailed, closed down, or both. They have long had to endure anti-social behaviour by some of the delinquents mr.Crow has taken on, with police frequented his property often in the last year or so. Last week mr.crow was arrested after one of his neighbours lodged a complaint of harassment against him, accusing him of uttering insulting words against her when he walked past her. Another neighbour told this publication that he frequently utters derogatory language against her loudly on his phone when speaking about them.
In 2018, Crow agreed to co-operate with this publication in taking advice to keep his property in suitable condition for his sake and that of his neighbours, whilst we examine his complaints against Southend Borough Council. However, he has since been very argumentative against any advice we give contrary to his wishes, on two occasions accusing us of bullying him when criticising him for not being emphatic in steps taken to evict his residents.
On this occasion, it seems strange if police arrived and failed to arrest the drunken man whom the landlord says damaged his door. That should would have been an expected response. Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
