A Nigerian restaurant owner went mad because the sink of the restaurant toilet was damaged by the man she hired to do it.
Musu kamara, owner of Kay Kay, in Westcliff On sea, went absolutely crazy when she discovered that not only had the sink to her toilet been damaged, but water was leaking out to the restaurant floor.
The woman in he thirties had hired a man to work in the toilet of her restaurant, but when he arrived, he found someone else who had been called there first to work on it. The eye of media.com was incidentally on the scene at the time when the dramatic showdown which threatened to spiral out of control occurred. We had stopped by for a quick drink and a meal.
The first man apparently had promised to provide the service free because he is a friend of hers. After the man concluded more work needed to be done and promised to come back the next day, the restaurant boss deployed the original man she had hired to do the work.
The second man who insisted on not being named by the eye of media.com, attempted to work on the sink but concluded the original Worker had created a damage that doomed his efforts to fail. However, the restaurant owner said she clearly asked him if he could do the work and he said yes. The man later said ”I thought I could do it”. The angry woman screamed ”you don’t ‘thought’ with other people’s business”.
Worked up and very angry, she shouted at the man asking him to do the job properly. The man claimed the toilet was already wet, but she insisted he was a lair. Shouting at the top of her voice, the well dressed and curvy Nigerian owner warned: ”I’m not a white girl, I’ll beat you silly if you are not careful”.
The later comment was intended to indicate to the white man who she alleged damaged her toilet, that as a black woman, she is more inclined to be tougher and more willing to take on a man, than a white girl. There is no suggestion of any racial connotation here on her part, except to indicate to the white male that she is a different and more unpredictable breed in her potential response to the alleged denial of fault on his part. In that sense it could be perceived as threatening behaviour, or just high anger.
The man, who was visibly angered by her unrestrained anger, then told her she needed a plumber and that he could not be blamed for causing the damage. But as her temper continued to rage, the man took his mobile phone and told her he was recording the scene, but that did not stop her from continuing venting her anger.
Kay Kay was set up at the end of 2015 to fill in the gaps of a shortage of African and Afro Caribbean restaurants in the predominantly white Southend on Sea area. There are currently only two African Caribbean restaurants in the whole of Westcliff and Southend On Sea. Kay Kay restaurant sells African food, Jerk chicken, and has a late license to sell alcohol until the late hours of the morning even on weekends.
Whilst most of her customers are of Nigerian and Zimbabwe decent, her restaurant has recently succeed in attracting some white customers who sometimes pour in from neighboring pubs when their license hours run out and then fancy extra drinks. She is said to want more white people to attend her restaurant bar, for the obvious reasons of maximizing profit, and having a mix of regulars at her bar.
Kay Kay restaurant has a pool table and a big fanciful television screen where football is featured for die hard football fans.
One regular member of her restaurant told the eye of media. com after we left her restaurant ”she has worked hard to build this restaurant, and it is still in the developmental stages. She jokes and likes everything done properly because she is here to make profit. She jokes a lot with regulars, but has a high temper whenever anything goes wrong that may interfere with her business. She needs to learn to control her temper, but also nobody wants to see their business ruined by reckless behavior.
The eye of media.com learned about Kay Kay, after Ms Kamara threw a free launch party last year, in which she provided fre drinks and food to the public, who filled up her restaurant that day. Representatives of the eye of media.com who attended the launch after hearing of the launch did not have sufficient information about the restaurant to report on the launch, and no CCTV cameras had been installed in the shop at the time. It was later installed in the shop.
The video clip of the latest argument is still being converted to an online format, and will be updated when it’s ready. It features a female boss who can lose her cool beyond control when she is angry. The aggrieved Nigerian restaurant owner said the man had destroyed her business. She told the eye of media.com ” I asked this man if he was sure he could do the job and he said yes. If he said ‘ I thought’, I won’t ask him to do it. I spent £20 to buy materials for the job and all he did was destroy my toilet. Now customers won’t be able to use the toilet or wash their hands. How can I run my business?
”We are all in this business, it’s good to to help each other rather than destroying. He came and destroyed my toilet with things he does not know. All he had to say was he does not know, but he was too selfish to say it because he wanted £10″. Asked why she only offered him £10, she stated ” you get paid how you present yourself. He is not a professional, he is cheap”. The man said he was just doing her a favour.
When we pointed out that he may have thought he could do the job, but was mistaken, she accused of us taking sides with the man.
The man, who is known to the told the eye of media.com that ”the sink should not have been mounted on a plaster board wall because plasterboards cannot support weight over 10kilograms because it is made of plaster, and is only two centimeters thick.
WEIGHT
The sink weights between 15 and 20 kg, as soon as extra weight was put on the sink by a customer, it ripped the wall, causing a plaster board to rupture, and left a hole 10 inches in diameter. Therefore the sink had to be taken off the wall to be moved to a better position. That is why a plumber was required after that to extend the pipes”.
Ms Kamara insists the man is a lair, and is refusing to admit that he took on a job he wasnt sure he could do properly. Ms. Kamara has use the man on numerous occasions in the past, but this is the first time they have had a major bust up. Ms Kamara eventually had to pay £100 for a plumber to stem the flow of water from her toilet.
