A new royal book revealing how difficult Kate Middleton’s Windsor walkabout with Harry and Meghan was after the Queen’s death ‘one of the hardest things she had ever had to do is poised to complicate the invitation from King Charles III to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Princess of Wales reportedly informed a senior royal how difficult it was for her because of the ‘ill-feeling’ between the couples, according to royal correspondent Robert Jobson says.
The new book, called Our King – serialised in The Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday this weekend – lays bare the inside story of the Royals’ war with the Sussexes before, during and after Megxit. It also tells how:
Charles was also frustrated at Harry’s ‘bad manners’ for overshadowing his 2016 Gulf tour by releasing the statement confirming his relationship with Meghan but demanding they be left alone;
The late Queen also described the behaviour of the Sussex’s public criticisms of the monarchy as ‘quite mad’, and could not understand their attacks at the royal family.
According to the book, the new king and his first son, Prince William, also could not risk being alone with Prince Harry and were quite offended by his actions.
The late Queen, who was looking forward to seeing her grandchildren and their wives, dubbed the fab four, reunited for the first time in 2020. She had also described the behaviour of the Sussex’s public criticisms of the monarchy as ‘quite mad’, and could not understand their attacks at the royal family.
The revelations ahead of the coronation next month is likely to make it incredibly difficult for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are yet to reveal whether they will accept the invitation to attend the ceremony. The news could also make it easier for Prince William and Kate Middleton, who may silently hope the estranged couple turn down the invitation, some analysts have told The Eye Of Media.Com.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 devastated the royal family, especially with their many allegations, including the hard hitting claim that a senior member o the royal family had asked how dark the colour o the skin with Meghan’s then unborn baby would be.
Meghan Markle also revealed that she had felt suicidal, and her pleas or professional help had been ignored by senior members of the royal family. She said her passport and her keys had been seized, and ‘the firm’ had regularly hosted the tabloids at Buckingham Palace, where they had been fed falsified news about her.
Her husband, Prince William, revealed that efforts he made for his father to intervene with the allegedly erroneous circulation of news in the press was brushed aside on the grounds that other royal family members had endured similar press attacks.
Some of his critics have questioned why he did not confront the press himself rather than blaming his father for not breaking conventional protocol and tackling the media. Others have said that the right of the media to free expression meant that his expectations for his father to intervene were unreasonable, especially if reports in the press were true, which the duke of sussex insists they were not.
The couple’s testimony sent shock waves through the world, sparking controversy and dividing opinions in both the Uk and the U.S, subsequently leading to broad reactions in the media from many personalities.
Television presenter, Piers Morgan, was forced to resign from his well paid ‘ Good Morning Britain job on ITV, after he branded Meghan Markle’s testimony as lies, stating that he did not believe a word that comes out of her mouth. He said he would not believe her if she read the weather report. His refusal to apologise following several complaints from the public forced his exit, though he rebuilt himself to some degree with U.S television and his uncensored programme on Youtube.
Ofcom later examined the many complaints against Piers Morgan, publishing an ambiguous report erroneously concluded by Piers Morgan and several sections of the media to have cleared the controversial presenter.
The broadcasting regulator later confirmed to this publication that the report had not in fact cleared Piers Morgan, but had cleared the broadcaster of any implied allegations of a breach of the code. Ofcom explained that it was the broadcaster who was subject to scrutiny, not Piers Morgan or any of the guests on the show. The broadcaster’s report concluded that the broadcaster had offset any questionable conduct of Piers Morgan by featuring counter views, and also by challenging some of the outspoken journalist’s views.
Many members of the public, commentators and royalists were angry with the couple for their public attack on the royal family. In particular, there was uproar about alleged lies and inaccuracies about some of their claims.
Prince Harry went further to participate in docuseries with Netflix and revealed intimate details about his experiences with his family in his book ‘spare’. There he revealed an attack by his brother Prince William, as well as told how he and his brother had pleaded with their father not to marry Camilla Parker Bowler. He later called for an apology from his family, saying that the silence was deafening.
An attack on Meghan Markle from television presenter and Sun Columnist, Jeremy Clarkson, sparked uproar, after he expressed a hatred for the Duchess Of Sussex, and said he looked forward to the day she was paraded on the streets of Britain naked with the crowds o people shouting ”shame on you” and throwing excrements on her.
Clarkson and The Sun Newspaper faced a lot of criticism over the ill judged article, but public opinion about the couple in the Uk remained low.
A number of psychologists have told this publication in the past that the tendency is always for individuals like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to fight back every time they perceive a vicious attack against them in the press.
The timing of the latest book to be serialised in the Daily Mail, could be decisive in whether the couple, who have so far been silent, will attend.
There are speculations that the couple have been indecisive as to whether they will attend the big ceremony in which it has already been announced that the couple will not appear on the Buckingham Palace Balcony. The revelation in the press could easily be seen as a public snobb and humiliation in retaliation or the series of attacks they have launched against their family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex planted in the middle of the aisle when the attended the Queen’s jubilee last June. Harry , who is currently locked in a lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, the group that owns The Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, and Metro, over an allegation that the company gathered information illegally for its news stories.
He also accused the royal family about withholding information about his phone being hacked, a statement the couple may foresee adding to a motive for retaliatory action from the royal family in the form of subtle humiliation should they attend the coronation.
Other sources have claimed that King Charles wishes find a way to mend the bond between him and his son and has no intention to worsen matters, but there is no concrete say and how things will turn out.
In the meantime, all ears are on news as to whether the couple will respond to the invitation to attend the King’s coronation, and give definite yes.
The safe bet is that they will not, but the public and the media await official confirmation.
