West Yorkshire Police has charged four people at a pro-Palestinian roof top protest for company specialises in supplying electronics systems to the aerospace and defence sectors.
Images shared on social media showed protesters bearing Palestinian flags, with protest group Palestine Action later confirming its involvement.
The protest was held by Palestine Action, at Teledyne’s premises at the Acorn Park industrial estate in Shipley on Wednesday.
The protesters, three women, aged 38, 32 and 56, and a man, aged 32, have been charged with burglary with intent to commit criminal damage, criminal damage to property and having an article with intent to destroy or damage property.
The company specialises in supplying electronics systems to the aerospace and defence sectors.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed this morning that four people have now been charged and will appear in court today.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Francesa Nadin, 38, of Thornville Avenue, Hyde Park, Leeds; Ricky Southall, 32, of Peterson Road, Wakefield; Amareen Afzal, 32, of North Hill Road, Leeds, and Serena Fenton, 56, of Foxcroft Green, Headingley have all been charged with burglary other than dwelling with intent to commit damage, criminal damage to property value over £5,000 and have an article with intent to destroy damage/property.
“Serena Fenton has also been charged with two counts of racially aggravated section 5 public order offences and one non-racially aggravated section 4 public order offence in Leeds between April 13 and May 3, 2024.”
The spokesperson said: “All four have been remanded to appear before Bradford Magistrates’ Court today.”
