Good Morning Britain’s axed television host, Piers Morgan, has launched another scathing attack on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the wake of Prince Harry’s latest announcement to feature a mental health series with Oprah Winfrey.
In a sharp attack against the Duke and Duchess Of Sussex, Piers Morgan said: “Today, the case for cutting him off from his royal status is even stronger, yet I suspect the Queen is still resisting all calls to do so, because she is an inherently decent woman and has a far greater loyalty to her family than Harry is showing.”
Adding: “With every word that now comes from his increasingly cruel mouth, Harry does more damage to the reputation of not just the Royal Family but the institution they serve.
“The Queen is the head of that institution and its greatest protector.”
Morgan’s angry rant was triggered by Prince Harry’s recent attack on the royal family during a 90 mins podcast session on The Armchair Expert, with Dax Shepard, the Duke Of Sussex made many revelations about his family, including how he felt in his 20s as well as inheriting his parents’ pain.
Prince Harry also referred to the US First Amendment as “bonkers”, and suggested Prince Charles’ parenting left him with “genetic pain and suffering”.
In a hard hitting column in which Morgan contrasted the public claims of the pair on the Archwell website dedicated to their son to the public perception of the pair’s actions, Morgan threw the kitchen sink and everything at the couple in an attempt to wield the knife in, just as he accuses the couple to have done to their family.
A lot of the comments made by the former presenter will resonate with neutral observers, though Piers Morgan refuses to accept the self inflicted damage he caused to his own career on GMB. His outright dismissal of the Duchess Of Sussex’s testimony was an own goal Morgan committed without thinking.
However, his fight continues in writing, and in his Sunday’s column, the veteran journalist has a point when criticising Prince Harry’s attack on free expression.
There can hardly be any grounds to campaign against the rights of free expression, especially in foreign land like America. It is free expression i9n itself that Prince Harry uses to express his dislike in liberty he himself enjoys.
Boundaries
This publication has explained in the past that Piers Morgan lost his job, not for free expression, but for exceeding the boundaries of free speech by illegitimately undermining her claims to have suffered mental health issues.
Expression which tramples over the rights of others, or promotes hate speech is not protected by the right to free speech.
Piers Morgan criticised the Prince by saying ”he hates anything which affords any protection to journalists to say things he doesn’t like, because that has been a familiar theme from the indignant media-loathing Prince for the last few years.
The former presenter and Daily Mirror Editor added that Prince Harry’s attitude is ”the same thing that makes Meghan think she can complain to the bosses of TV networks when presenters like me refuse to believe her lies – and have them removed from their jobs if we don’t apologise for our impertinence”.
”But all that Americans will take away from Harry’s outburst about the First Amendment is a posh, privileged British royal slamming their Constitution and their unalienable rights to freedom of speech and expression, he added.
Dangerous Territory
”Bashing the US Constitution is very dangerous territory for any British royal to meddle in, but Harry seems beyond caring about the impact of his ignorant and deluded words, and oblivious to his rank hypocrisy’, Morgan said.
The outspoken journalist then criticised the basis of Archwell Foundation, himself going into dangerous territory by branding them one of the least compassionate pair of heartless, selfish and shameless little grifters”.
Piers continues: ‘Compassion in action,’ the title headline boasts. ‘Through our non-profit work, as well as creative activations, we drive systemic cultural change across all communities, one act of compassion at a time.’
And barely a day goes by without the pair of these selfless charitable souls telling us how deeply compassionate they are.
But they’re not, are they?
In fact, it’s hard to imagine a less compassionate pair of ruthless, heartless, selfish, shameless little grifters than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan’s disowned almost her entire family, including her father, Thomas.
Just as she has tossed away anyone in her life, from her ex-husband to friends and work colleagues who’ve ceased to be of use to her on her frenzied scramble up the global celebrity ladder”.
He said: “Today, the case for cutting him off from his royal status is even stronger, yet I suspect the Queen is still resisting all calls to do so, because she is an inherently decent woman and has a far greater loyalty to her family than Harry is showing.”
Adding: “With every word that now comes from his increasingly cruel mouth, Harry does more damage to the reputation of not just the Royal Family but the institution they serve.
“The Queen is the head of that institution and its greatest protector.”
Piers Morgan’s has repeatedly highlighted that Meghan Markle has dumped her family and former friends completely, an issue that has been internally raised by members of this publication for psychologists to examine for greater insight.
A concluded point by experts is that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feel very hurt and are definitely battling mental challenges even now as the fall out from their public revelations continues.
Views in some quarters have been expressed that the complaints made by the couple have not been fairly examined in full, and needs that thorough examination for an objective conclusion.
Falsehoods
Complaints like the firm perpetuating falsehoods about her, and the claim that there was nobody to address her expressed concerns of mental health issues in the palace, remain untouched by the likes of Morgan who is good at making his points strongly, and bashing the reputation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle without repeating his initial words of not believing a word she says.
Adjustment
Morgan has adjusted his language a bit to not believing ”her lies”, leaving room for some truth in the claims of Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle don’t seem to have the tools, or media platform, (in writing)to fight back effectively in any form, without putting themselves out physically and being exposed to blows coming back from their many critics.
Unless the detailed criticisms against them are counteracted by them one by one, their public image in the UK may continue to take a hit.
Only criticisms with holes can be effectively counteracted, so there might be a real need for a soul to soul search of the couple to identify criticisms against some of their actions which are well based, and correct and rectify those before pursuing other points they feel they can address.
That may be a too much of a task for the couple whose minds are divided with a number of engagements, and whose emotions are still dealing with all the storm surrounding their actions.
