Piers Morgan Language Of Criticism Against Johnson Is Disrespectful To The Nation

By Gabriel Princewill-

Piers Morgan ‘s criticism of Boris Johnson is disrespectful to the nation, and sets a poor example to society, particularly youngsters, a thinktank member of The Eye Of Media.Com has said. Morgan is facing criticism for his insensitive and crude comments about Prime minister Boris Johnson who was recently discharged from hospital after contracting the coronavirus.

The British television presenter is under scrutiny for his relatively frequent use of inappropriate language on media platforms. Holding government’s accountable is part of the media’s role but caution is sometimes imperative. The Prime Minister over the country’s handling of the coronavirus. Describing the Prime minister as delusional, Morgan went further referred to Johnson’s words as ”complete and utter bullsh*t”. Writing like that is shocking to be used for the head of the British government

Extremely offensive use of words on public platforms is absolutely unacceptable and calls for reproach. Put simply, Morgan’s choice of language is deplorable, especially when used for the senior citizen of the Uk apart from the Queen. Such unsavoury language should not be used by anybody by a media personality against a prime minister is poor judgement and bad taste.

Breathless

Morgan wrote In a new column in the Daily Mail : “He was breathless, I assume from residual side-effects of the virus. This is ridiculous and irresponsible. How could a media presenter make mockery of someone who has just recovered from a serious virus. This should not impress anyone, knowing that so many families are struggling with the current effects of the coronavirus. Morgan further wrote:

“But it could also have been from excitement at being able to deliver so much tremendously positive new…. Boris assured us that though it’s been like coming through ‘some huge alpine tunnel’, we’ll soon be seeing sunlight and pastures again!

Morgan continued: “Wow, this all sounded fantastic. It also sounded like complete and utter bullsh*t.”

Piers Morgan’s criticism about under preparation in relation to PPE equipment and sending elderly people back from hospitals back to care homes without testing is not unreasonable : “We were scandalously under-prepared for it, particularly when it came to stock-piling Personal Protection Equipment for health workers and securing enough coronavirus tests as soon as the severity of the crisis became clear.

“We were scandalously late to order a lockdown.”We were scandalously complicit in sending infected elderly hospital patients back to care homes without testing them.”And we’ve been scandalously inconsistent in performing policy U-turn after policy U-turn.” “For him to now claim some kind of success is a woeful delusion.” Morgan may have a point in his criticism, but this cannot justify the level of impertinence he displayed in his article.

Bad Habit

Morgan has a bad habit of using or endorsing foul language on media platforms. In October 2018, Morgan appeared to be complicit in the use of foul language on twitter when he responded to foul language used by Channel 4 social media users who told him to go ‘F’ himself in a bid to raise money for charity.

Then in March 2019, Gordon Ramsay told Morgan to go F himself Nearly a year later, in September 2019 Labour MP, Neil Coyle used the exact same swear phrase on Morgan when he asked the television presenter to go F himself over comments made by the presenter in relation to murdered Joe Fox and Brexit.

All parties involved in the use of toxic language on public platforms discredited themselves in the eyes of individuals of real substance. They are inadvertently contributing to the degradation of society. A copy cat pattern of such distasteful language as shown in the aforementioned examples is inevitable when behaviour like that is openly encouraged.Morgan is known for his often combative and engaging interviews on Itv, but can do better with setting good standards for many impressionable members of society.

Critic And Researcher from our thnktank, Hortensia Damiels, told The Eye Of Media.Com:

”Language like this from Piers Morgan is bad. Describing the prime ministers words a B.S is very disrespectful to the nation and serves to undermine a leader chosen by the people. Criticism is necessary in any setting, but there has to be decorum. A television presenter can be talking so carelessly, acting like a bulldozer who is unaccountable”.
