Piers Morgan has asked his twitter followers to vote for him in the NTA Awards which takes place in two days time. His appeal follows a recent Ofcom ruling which supported Piers Morgan’s right to freedom of expression
Morgan posted :Two days until the National Television Awards..There are lots of people from Montecito to the ITV boardroom who would hate me winning given what’s happened this year.
So if you’d like to show your support for free speech, then please vote for me.
The 2020 awards went to Sir, Michael Palin , with the awa5rd the year before going to BBC’s former question Time presenter, the likeable David Dimblebee.
In 2020, Paul O’Grady won the NTA award, after being celebrated for changing the public perception of rehoming rescue dogs via his hugely popular series For the Love of Dogs, and Graham Norton was the recipient of the 2017 awards, and Billy Connolly won the awards in 2016.
British voters will decide whether Britain’s most outspoken and controversial former presenter deserves to be given an awards for his role in raising television ratings for ITV, as divisive figure that was both loved and hated in extreme proportions.
ITV bosses admitted that the former Daily Mirror editor was irreplaceable, but his reckless way in he which he dismissed the Duchess Of Sussex’s claim of suicide in the Oprah Winfrey interview led to him losing his job with ITV.
After Ofcom published its ruling which Piers Morgan considered to amount to a vindication of his conduct, after over 50,000 complaints were lodged against him, he bullishly went on the attack of all parties that had not supported him, including ITV boss, Oprah Winfrey, and repeated his claim not to have believed a word of Meghan’s testimony y during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Piers Morgan’s celebration makes is a kick in the teeth of Meghan Markle, who has widely been considered to be a liar , after the direct television personality tore into the Duchess Of Sussex’s claims, with many of his supporters following suit. He in particularly has highlighted Meghan Markle’s claim to have married three days before the national wedding as false, after the Archbishop made it abundantly clear that the legal wedding took place on Saturday, May 19.
The Archbishop was silent on why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle considered themselves married before the official announcement, saying he could not discuss matters discussed in private. A representative of Meghan Markle later said she and Prince Harry exchanged a few vows, falling short of explaining why they were exchanging vows privately, and not waiting to do so on the public stage.
Credible media analysts believe Meghan Markle considered herself to have been married by the Archbishop, in some traditional or common law form, but has been unable to publicly defend the allegation of lying presented by Morgan, to avoid opening up a can of worms as to why she would want to pursue any type of marriage privately, when she was marrying into the royal family, which is a public institution.
Morgan doubted her claims of suicide and wanted to know who she spoke to and what they said. Mental health Mind expressed concerns about Morgan’s attitude towards mental health.
The presenter, 56, uploaded an image of himself posing with a group of women outside of a cafe in Kensington. He was wearing white shorts with a black polo shirt and sunglasses and appeared more than happy to get a snap with his fans.
He captioned the post: “Great to meet my Yorkshire fan club this morning. Thanks for all the support, ladies! I’ll be back on TV soon, don’t worry..
