Phil Schofield Revealed Affair With ITV Runner After Following Threat He Was About To Spill Beans

By Lucy Caulkett–

The young ITV runner with whom Phil  Schofield(pictured)had a relationship told his legal team that while he feared being exposed, he was growing tired of lying about the relationship and was about to spill the beans, it ahs been revealed.

Word about the young man’s inclinations to come out reportedly led to Schofield having to admit what had really happened to his management company of 35 years, before going public with his statement.

It is believed that the young man has bene urged to tell his own story, which would inevitably have a high demand, with accompanying handsome pay to.

However, Schofield  may have decided to go ahead of the man and  say what there is to say.

Schofield originally met the younger colleague when he was a 15-year-old theatre student. His identity is well known in media circles. Schofield arranged an interview between him and ITV, who hired him aged 18 as a production assistant.

Schofield described their relationship as “unwise, but not illegal”, after admitting cheating on his wife with the young lad.

ITV also released a statement on Saturday confirming they had investigated Phil over the same allegations in 2020, but he denied the affair.

The saga is spiralling out of control, with strong allegations being made of a cover up in ITV of the relationship the whole over Schofield’s conduct. Staff are accused of being aware the relationship the whole while, but representatives of the broadcaster have said they were unable to establish the facts after the axed presenter outrightly denied the existence of a relationship when it was investigated.

However, reports that the young man was often driven back to the studios very early after sleep overs with Schofield, has cast some doubt over aspects of the denial, but it remains unclear whether it may just have bene an individual aware of the sexual liaisons between Schofield and the man.

The imprisonment of Schofield’s brother, Phillip Schofield of 11 counts of sexual abuse against a boy for sexual assault on a boy still lurks in the corner, and doesn’t make this story any easier.

A spokesperson for ITV told the Mirror the broadcaster was “not provided with, and did not find, any evidence of a relationship beyond hearsay and rumour” when it looked into the matter in 2020.

“ITV can confirm that when rumours of a relationship between Phillip Schofield and an employee of ITV first began to circulate in early 2020 ITV investigated”, the statement read.

“Both parties were questioned and both categorically and repeatedly denied the rumours as did Phillip’s then agency YMU.

“In addition, ITV spoke to a number of people who worked on This Morning and were not provided with, and did not find, any evidence of a relationship beyond hearsay and rumour.

On Monday,  Eamonn Holmes added fuel to the fire  by directly accusing Schofield of toxicity during some of his time at  ITV. and alleging a cover -up at ITV.

Holmes told GB News presenter Dan Wootton: “It’s a total cover-up.

“Those in authority had to know what was going on and they thought they would dodge a bullet with this.

“Which they do and they do constantly because with Schofield talking about those who speak out against him, namely me, Amanda Holden and you [Dan Wootton], you’ll be included in the toxicity that goes on… Dr Ranj [Singh] of course as well.

“And you simply sit there and think ‘no mate, you’ve had it all your way for too long’.”

Phillip announced his decision to part ways completely with ITV on Friday after he admitted the relationship with the young man, who he met when he was 15, and which he had previously denied when questioned by channel chiefs. In his statement of admission, Phillip said he regretted his deceit and the affair had been “unwise” but “not illegal” given the fact, he claims, the man was over 18 when it started.

In the lengthy statement, Phillip said he was “deeply sorry” to the publication and his lawyers for “misleading” them on a story they wanted to publish earlier this week.

He added how he had “not been truthful” about the relationship in “an effort to protect my ex-colleague”.
