Oxford Uni Sent FOI To Reveal Press Office Standards

By Gavin Mackintosh-

Oxford University has been sent a freedom of Information Request by The Eye Of Media.Com to reveal the processes through which they select their press officers.

The request comes following our discovery that the highly ranked University has been using some individuals who are part time students, and who lack quality professional training on the job.

We reported on Tuesday how, a young lady who appeared to be an amateur, was put in charge of their press office telephones, and foolishly slammed the phone on us during an inquiry we were making.

ADMISSION

She admitted being a temping student from Oxbridge University, but did not show the marks of an educated girl at all. It appeared obvious she was not getting paid for the inferior and below standard service she was caught delivering by The Eye Of Media.Com.

It came as a shock that a University like Oxford would have individuals prone to childish acts handling their press office telephone lines.

The further information from staff at the University who said some media students are used in the University’s press office made things clearer to see. Clear to see that if Oxford University is not saving money by hiring free or very cheap staff, then they are giving important responsibilities to individuals not mature enough to handle them.

The Eye Of Media.Com has asked Oxford University to tell us the processes through which they select their press officers, and the credentials and training of their press officers.

Organisations and institutions have 21 days to respond to freedom of information requests made in the public interest, though we hope an institution like Oxford will not keep us waiting that long. In the meantime, the Eye Of Media.Com has established a few student contacts at the University and will be conducting more inquiries.
