By Sammie Jones-
A Norfolk police officer caught with indecent images of children has been given a suspended jail sentence.
The sacked officer was given a one year jail sentence suspended for two years, and was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order by Ipswich magistrates. When the eye of media.com was first notified about this story in December 2015, by our contacts in the Norfolk area, we heard that a young girl of 8 years of age living in Cunnigham road where Peel resides, had been harassing her mother to move location to be ”far away from the weirdo down the road”.
The mother of the girl had to assure her daughter that officer’s problem is to do with pornographic material not actual children.
The eye of media.com heard this led the young girl to inquire what pornographic meant, forcing her mother to explain it in detail. ”My daughter decided to look up the meaning of the word in the dictionary., the 28 year old woman he didn’t want to be named told the eye of media.com.
Every time we leave the house, she seems to examine every man’s face to see if they are Timothy Peel. It sends shivers up my pine, every time she raises the issue. I’ve told her to never ever mix with anyone who views pornographic material, and she understands this. I also had to assure her that not every male police officer views pornographic material.
Formerly based at Wymondham in Norfolk, Peel denied three offences but was convicted by magistrates in June after they saw evidence of his extreme perversion.
NORWICH POLICE
37 year old Peel from Norwich was fired in July by Norfolk Police after his pedophile tendencies came to light. The shameful revelation puts a deep scar on his reputation, and the former copper’s career is now gone forever. In a day and age when vulnerable children need to be protected by from adults with strange sexual tendencies, it comes as a huge shock and embarrassment to the police for one of their own to be caught viewing pornographic image.
LAW ABIDING OFFICERS
Although many officers are law abiding and hardworking, this story is a grim reminder that there are many bad apples in the police force who need to be rooted out as quickly as possible. Today, another officer, Daniel weeks from Redbridge appeared in court on money laundering charges, which he denies after being suspended from duty for two years. The allegation itself against an officer, is disturbing, though judgment must be reserved until the final hearing.
