Nigel Farage has told American television that Uk Prime minister Theresa May was rude about president-elect Donald Trump.
Nigel Trump, the interim Ukip leader become the first British politician to meet President-elect Donald Trump since Trump’s victory.
The personal meeting which took place at the Trump tower in Newyork is expected to annoy Downing Street, though downing street really should not be annoyed. Theresa May had accused Donald Trump of being divisive, following his initial announcement before his campaign to impose a complete ban on Muslims entering the U.S. The u.k prime minister’s comments were not rude, but a frank expression of her views at the time.
Farage appears to be using this as an instrument of power to jump the queue in meeting Donald Trump. However, May was expressing her view based on the questionable comments of Trump at the time.
Farage said the pair talked about “freedom and winning”. Mr Farage told American TV that Theresa May had to “mend fences” when she finally met Mr. Trump.Farge’s comments appear to put him on a higher platform than Theresa May, however, he is not the UK prime minister. Farage is, however. a strong personality who can influence the thinking of many people, but Trump and his advisers will still have his opinion and his own ideas.
Protests
Meanwhile, the protests continued for a fourth day in the U.S, Mr Farage believes the UK could benefit from Mr Trump taking the White House as the billionaire is “an Anglophile”.
“He understands and recognizes what our two great nations have done together between us. And thank goodness we’re coming to the end of an American president who loathed us,” Mr Farage told Fox News.
Mr Farage told Fox the U.S and the U.K should follow the example of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. However, what will stand out is Farge’s message that the U.K prime minister was rude to president-elect Trump will deeply upset downing street, and rightfully so. Farage’s comments are likely to resonate with Trump, who will have to shake them off when he meets Theresa May.President-elect Trump should conclude that May’s comments were not rude, but a genuine expression of her opinion.
Rude
“Theresa May’s team have been quite rude about Trump so there are some fences to be mended,” said Mr. Farage. Donald Trump says he would be open to maintaining portions of President Barack Obama’s signature legislative achievement
Farage took the high ground in stating that it would not be right for the President-elect to snub Theresa May. Farage’s position seems to be that the u.k prime minister was rude to president-elect Trump, but the president-elect should meet the U.K prime minister and not snub her.
“I think he’s got to meet her, he said. ”We can have a sensible trade relationship, cut tariffs, we’re massive investors in each other’s countries. There’s a bright future.” President-elect Trump would meet the Uk Prime minister, with or without Farage’s advice.
Earlier this week Mr Farage told a radio show that Mr Trump should “schmooze” Mrs May but “don’t touch her for goodness sake”.
Protests continued for a second night in Portland, Oregon as people protested around the United States after Donald Trump’s presidential election victory
