A murder investigation has been launched in Southend, Essex, after a woman who fell from a block of flats died from her injuries.
The woman, in her 20s, was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition after falling from Bewley Court, in Southend, last Wednesday.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to the woman’s fall and has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Police have now confirmed that the woman died in hospital on Monday after a six day fight for her life.
Detectives have launched a murder investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Neighbours told this publication that arguments between the couple was a regular feature of the couple, so loud that other neighbours could often hear the pair.
Essex Police said in a statement: ‘We were called to concerns for a woman in Bewley Court shortly after 6.30pm on Wednesday 10 November.
‘When we arrived we found a woman in her 20s who had sustained serious injuries having fallen from a height.
‘She was taken to hospital but, sadly, died there yesterday (Monday 15 November).
