The Parliamentary Commissioner’s inquiry into MP Griffith in 2019, overlooked his practise of sadomasochism, in the process inadvertently undermining the law, a report to be publish next week states.
Sadomaschism is illegal in the Uk. It involves the giving or receiving of pleasure from acts involving the receipt or infliction of pain or humiliation.
MP Andrew Griffiths stepped down from Parliament after he was exposed for sending thousands of obscene messages to two women- one of whom the parliamentary Commissioner admitted may have been a colleague.
The report which faces wider internal scrutiny before publication, suggests that the fact the disgraced MP was engaged in sadomaschism makes it unacceptable that he was acquitted. The Parliamentary Commissioner’s spokesperson has said she does not comment on individual cases, and is bound by the codes and conduct of Parliament.
The Mps acquittal by Parliamentary Commissioner Kathryne Stone became a subject of investigation by The Eye Of Media.Com following concerns from some feminists that the victimisation of women was being treated lightly in Parliament, which could send wrong signals to society as a whole.
Past complaints by female Mp staff of sexual harassment which led to a disturbing report by QC Gemma White led to greater concerns that British Mps may be taking a soft approach on harassment and sexual misconduct. Andrew Griffiths, who once served as Theresa May’s chief of staff while in opposition, stepped aside after narrowly surviving an attempt by the local party to oust him as the candidate for the seat of Burton.
He said he would back his wife, Kate Griffiths, who was selected as the Conservative candidate for the sea the same night he resigned. Sadomaschism is the giving or receiving of pleasure from acts involving the receipt or infliction of pain or humiliation.
Griffith, who stepped down from his role as MP after sending over 2,000 messages to two women was acquitted by Parliamentary Commissioner Kathryn Stone, because his misdemeanours did not occur during his professional capacity as an MP.
As such, the office of the Parliamentary Commissioner said she could only act within her remit in her assessment that is restricts her evaluation of mr. Griffiths to the rule book of the codes of conduct.
Uproar about his acquittal led to a focused evaluation of the case by The Eye Of Media.Com to scrutinise the assessment and make recommendations where possible.
In a scathing criticism against the failing that led to the acquittal of a parliamentarian representing the public in Parliament, the author highlights the fact that sadomasochism is illegal in the Uk.
The report, still being scrutinised internally, highlights that the practise of sadomasochism amounts to breaking the law, and should be unheard of amongst those who make the law.
HYPOCRITICAL
It states that it is ”shameful and hypocritical” for Mps who contribute to the management of police affairs including the enforcement of the law, if some of those MPs themselves fail to obey the law. It states that ” MPs are particularly looked up to for leading by example, an expectation that comes from the values and ethical standards instilled into society through the laws laid down for years, by the very Parliament”.
BACKTRACKING
It criticises the Conservative party for backtracking on their initial finding that mr. Griffith breached the Parliamentary Code Of conduct, but then eventually decided to take no action against him on account of a mental health illness.
The report states that ”mental health illness would not have saved him from conviction of a serious criminal offence if brought before a court of law. This being the case, there is no justification for his mental health condition to have been used to acquit him.
SHOCKING
The report states that the fact mr. Griffith’s was accepted back to the Conservative party was so shocking that a Labour MP in Parliament read out the filthy texts Mp Griffiths had sent out to the women, yet he was back seated among those who make laws for the country. It calls for Mps to clean up their acts if they want to earn the position entrusted in them by the public.
The report state that it is not enough to be in parliament as a rule maker, if Mps lack the integrity and quality to make laws and abide by them.
