A racist has sent black MP, David Lammy, a racist card saying he should paddle back to n***** land and eat a banana.
Lammy received the anonymous card depicting the picture of a monkey to his constituency office in Tottenham yesterday. The picture features a monkey wearing a party hat, blowing a streamer, and wearing a yellow rosette with the words ‘go bananas’ on it.
The letter which begins ‘Dear Dave, reads:’The picture on this card is your grandad “Sambo Lammo.”
The letter describes him as vile and tells him to” go back to the country of or for God’s sake man stop your vile and obscene speeches knocking this country down. Be grateful that we have taken you in as a black man and given you a life here, as we have done for all those black people who came to live here”.
”Be a grateful man for the country that gave you life and stops knocking it. Otherwise, go back to the country of your forbearers and let’s be rid of you. If you cannot say good about us, then go back, it’s as simple as that”
Lammy said: ”I have just received a letter telling me to be ‘grateful’ as a black man for all ‘we have done for those black people who came to live here’ or ‘go back to where ever you came from’.
‘I was born in the Whittington Hospital the son of Windrush migrants. And I will speak for them.”
The hate mail is a response to the outspoken role played by Lammy the wake of the Windrush scandal in which he lost the close family friend, Saye. which saw Amanda Rudd resign as Home Secretary.
The letter was sent on April 16th, the same day Mr Lammy made a speech in the House of Commons on the fiasco branding it a ‘day of national shame’.
And he blamed Theresa May for the scandal, saying it was a direct result of her policy of introductory a ‘hostile environment’ for illegal immigrants when she was Home Secretary. The letter was sent in April

He wrote: “Love to receive fan mail.
“Whoever wrote this and sent it to my office and was too cowardly to even sign their name on it, can you at least note I was born in the Whittington Hospital, North London, N19.
“And if you think this will scare me into silence, it won’t.”
Lammy has been outspoken on issues such as the Grenfell Tower fire in which he lost his friend Khadija Saye.
He also spoke up about the Windrush scandal, which saw him receive a barrage of hate.
In April, he received an abusive letter branding him ‘vile’ and telling him to ‘go back to the country of your forebears.’
It read:
“or God’s sake man stop your vile and obscene speeches knocking this country down.
“Be grateful that we have taken you in as a black man and given you a life here, as we have done for all those black people who came to live here.
“Be grateful man for the country that gave you a life and stops knocking it. Otherwise, go back to your country of your forebears and let’s be rid of you.’
“If you cannot say good about us, then go back, it’s as simple as that.”
The card shows that there are still some ignorant and vile individuals in the British society. Only individuals with a warped mind set would send a letter so demeaning. The author of the letter knew they could not disclose their true identity because of the potential consequences. Lammy could have told the author of the letter that at least he has a life as an MP, whilst the vile racist is a nobody with no life.
