Kimberlee Singler, the mother accused of killing her two children, faces extradition proceedings in the UK after being arrested in central London on Saturday.
The 35-year-old appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday for an extradition hearing.
Singler is accused of murdering her nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son, who were found dead at a home in Colorado on December 19. Additionally, her 11-year-old daughter was discovered injured in the same incident. US police issued a warrant for Singler’s arrest a week later, leading to her detention in London.
The charges against Singler include two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, three counts of child abuse, and one count of assault.
The extradition hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court resulted in Singler being remanded in custody. She is scheduled to appear in court again on January 29.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK confirmed the arrest, stating that officers from the National Extradition Unit apprehended Singler on December 30, 2023, in the Kensington area of London. The NCA spokesperson revealed that the arrest was carried out without incident.
The Colorado Springs Police Department provided details about the initial incident, stating that they responded to a 911 call reporting a burglary at a Colorado residence at 00:29 local time on December 19. Singler and her eldest daughter were found injured and received on-site treatment before being transported to the hospital.
Subsequently, the force determined that the initial report of burglary was unfounded.
In a press release issued last week, the Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed Singler’s arrest in the UK, adding that more information would be shared in a scheduled press conference.
