More Married Celebs Who Are Gay Should Come Out For Wives Sake

By Gavin Mackintosh-

Married people who are gay should come out of the closet sooner rather than later, and not subject their partners to any hear ache.

Following revelations from television presenter Phil Schofield that he is gay and has been secretly battling his sexuality in pain, the question is how many others are out there?  More married celebs who are gay should take courage from Schofield’s revelation and equally make their sexuality known, so their wives or not in the dark.

Keeping one’s sexuality secret is no good idea because it only eats up into an individual’s psychological state of mind. Marrying somebody of the opposite sex when you are actually gay is a weak and selfish act to take. It means gambling with the emotions and entire future of the partner being fooled. Even worse in the case of Phil Schofield is the fact there are children involved.

Fortunately for the well loved presenter, his family have been very supportive of him.  He told The Sun On Sunday: “Steph is my closest confidante. She’s been amazing. I have no secrets from Steph.

“We have been very truthful and honest. She has known for a while. When you live with someone you know these things don’t you?

SUPPORT

Support has been pouring in from all angles, including colleagues, celebrities, and family members of the television presenter.  Everyone  has been praising Schofield’s bravery for coming out. A question on everyone’s mind is exactly how long Schofield’s wife knew and whether she has been seeing someone else privately since she would technically be free.

Phillip Schofield’s wife Steph has said she will stand by her husband after he revealed he was gay and says she loves him and “always will”.”Although this is difficult for us all, I support Phillip in this taking this brave step and I will still be there, holding his hand.”

CONFIDENT

Ordinary people and celebs must learn to be confident of whom they really are. Pretending to be who you are not is the most difficult thing. Schofield said he was very depressed and even close to suicide over his sexuality.

LGBT actors in Hollywood have often felt obliged to marry a person of the opposite sex to maintain a certain image. It is nothing new for marriages to be arranged by Hollywood studios between one or more gay, lesbian or bisexual people in order to maintain a certain image.

The British celeb world has never felt those levels of restrictions, especially in the changing times of today . Schofield had no obligation to keep his sexuality secret for so long, though his colleagues have been aware of his sexuality for a few years now, though some viewers suspected the well loved presenter was gay anyway.  Schofield has always had camp mannerisms. He speaks very well and has an air of passion and compassion that automatically endears him to the British public.
