Members of a  monstrous gang  have been convicted of murdering a 19-year-old man near a busy cinema complex in a ‘ferocious’ post code rivalry attack.

The gang, led by Tyrell  Graham(pictured) were caught and arrested by police after foolishly boasting about the attack in on ‘drill’ rap music videos. The Old Bailey heard how Tyrell Graham, 18, of Leyton, and six other gang members, executed a calculated plan to attack a rival gang, with they successfully achieved in fatal fashion.

On the night of February 22, 2019, the group of seven males  including Sheareem Cookhorn, 21, three 17-year-olds who cannot be named for legal reasons, and two individuals unknown to the police rode to Wood Green on bikes to seek out their rivals. A number of them were caught on CCTV on their way to the attack. The court heard that the night before the attack, the group had parked Peugeot 307 on the Broadwater Farm Estate, to be their ‘fall-back’ point after the attack.

Cookhorn fired shots but missed. One bullet was later recovered in a nearby shop after travelling through an open door of the store, narrowly missing customers and staff. Kamali and the 20-year-old man ran for the safety of their parked car.

However, the 20-year-old man was encircled and  stabbed eight times and shot once in the buttock, miraculously  surviving with ‘life changing’ injuries. The attack was interrupted when Kamali – who had managed to return to his car – drove towards the gang to frighten them off.

The gang turned on Kamali, who tried to escape by reversing but got stuck between parked cars.East London and West Essex Guardian Series:
