The Met Office has issued a Warning saying that Storm Dylan is going to hit the UK on New Year’s Eve.
The storm is set to strike parts of Ireland on Saturday evening before heading to the UK on Sunday Morning.
Gusts of 70 to 80mph across Northern Ireland and southern Scotland are predicted to mark the end of the year. Dylan is the fourth named storm of the year after Aileen in September, Brian in October and Caroline in December. Thursday night was one of the coldest nights in the UK with temperatures plunging really low in many areas. The weather has continued to disrupt motorists and airline passengers today.
Plenty of snow has already hit many parts of the UK, especially Yorkshire where snow has practically covered most parts. Motorists are warned to be extra vigilant in this weather in the run up to the New year.
