Meghan Markle Supporters Attack Politico Column Accusing Duchess Of Narcissism

By Sheila Mckenzie-

Meghan Markle’s supporters have criticised  an article  published by Politico magazine which branded the Duchess of Sussex a narcissist and put her in the same bracket as Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Kanye West. POLITICO Magazine published an opinion piece titled 2022 Is the Year We All Finally Got Tired of Narcissists by contributing writer Joanna Weiss on Monday.

The image associated with the article added Markle to a list of names that included Musk, Tesla CEO and new owner of Twitter; Sam Bankman-Fried, who recently was charged with fraud; West, a hip-hop artist who announced a 2024 presidential run and has made antisemitic remarks on social media; Elizabeth Holmes, an entrepreneur sentenced to prison for fraud; and Trump, former president and 2024 presidential candidate.

Meghan, who joined her husband  Prince Harry in producing a series on Netflix in which they tell their story about their experience in the royal family, has upset a lot of royal fans, who feel she has gone out of her way to bring the royal family down.

Some even believe she plotted her way  into the family to advance her own ambitions.

The former US actress and her husband have told of the pressures they faced in the royal family and their displeasure at sustained attack from the British media.

Her complaints about the media took a horrible turn after Jeremy Clarkson published a degrading article in The Sun Newspaper, in which he expressed a wish to see Ms Markle paraded on the streets naked, with the public crying ‘shame on you’.

Christopher Bouzy went on Twitter that while he believes Trump, Bankman-Fried and Holmes are criminals and West an anti-Semite, Markle’s only offense is having ‘defended herself while being black.’ He has branded the criticism against Meghan Markle as being racist.

Bouzy went further, adding: ‘Placing Meghan Markle at the center of criminals and antisemites is not an accident. The hate for Meghan is palpable. A woman of color protecting her family and defending herself isn’t narcissism; it’s survival.’

He’s quoted in the Netflix documentary as saying the controversy over the Duke and Duchess is ‘about hatred. It’s about race.’

The CEO of Bot Sentinel  went as far a suggesting Weiss may be jealous of Meghan’s marriage, saying: ‘These Meghan haters all have something in common. Meghan got the prince, and you must learn to deal with it.’

“All of them used attention as currency and ego as fuel, and were rewarded, for a time, with what they craved,” Weiss wrote. “We’re drawn to people who love themselves.”It didn’t take long for Markle’s supporters to leap to her defense after seeing the article. Many criticized the article as unfairly targeting Markle because of her race and called the piece “irresponsible.”

“Listing Meghan Markle in the same category of narcissist as Elon Musk and Donald Trump is a wildly irresponsible and truly white choice,” tweeted Rebecca Carroll, a writer and cultural critic.

“Donald Trump = Stole classified materials. Elizabeth Holmes = Convicted fraudster. Sam Bankman-Fried = Stole Billions. Kanye West = Antisemite. Elon Musk = Fired employees and suspended journalists on a whim. Meghan Markle = Defended herself while being Black,” entrepreneur and engineer Christopher Bouzy tweeted.

In a subsequent tweet, Bouzy described the hate for Markle as “palpable.”

“A woman of colour protecting her family and defending herself isn’t narcissism; it’s survival,” he tweeted before tagging Weiss and Politico, saying both should apologize for the “garbage take.”

Christopher Bouzy, who appears in the ‘Harry & Meghan’ Netflix documentary, wrote on Twitter that while he believes Trump, Bankman-Fried and Holmes are criminals and West an anti-Semite, Markle’s only offense is having ‘defended herself while being black.’

Meanwhile, historian Dr David Starkey attacked the Duchess of Sussex on GB News

Speaking to Nigel Farage on GB News, the historian said that banishment of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be an option: “Until there’s a reconciliation, which seems infinitely unlikely, the answer is yes. And do you know what? I think rightly so.

“They have played the game, a footsy game of one foot in, one foot out. You can’t do it.

“It was done as it were by silence, it wasn’t done by explicit banishment. This is not the treatment of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. But you know what? It may eventually have to be”.

Weiss stated in her now controversial article that the couple’s Netflix documentary ‘Harry and Meghan’ turned her against them.

She writes: ‘My natural sympathy for the couple started turning to irritation, and it occurred to me that ego has its limits. And it struck me that the overreach that led to the Sussexes’ critically panned mega-series is the same impulse that turned Elon Musk into a terror on Twitter, that prompted Ye to up the ante of outrageous behavior until he crossed the line into blatant antisemitism, that sent Bankman-Fried from the top of the world to a Bahamian jail.’
