A massive brawl broke out at a bar in Leeds where an unofficial after party for the 2015 MOBO awards took place. The star studded party where drinks had been flowing freely and people dancing merrily to music soon descended to into a ghetto style warfare when a disagreement between a couple of the revellers there turned ugly . Chairs and bottles were thrown in the early hours of the morning at Merrion Street in the city centre, where several celebrities were chilling after the glitzy bash at the First Direct Arena on Wednesday night.
A witness told eye of media “The scene was a total nightmare. Almost everyone seemed caught up in the brawl . One lady tried to take pictures and she was shoved off immediately and as two of her female friends tried to stick up for her, they got attacked to. Then a male who also decided to fight for her got glassed, it seemed like there were groups of people fighting for different reasons on related to the original cause of the fight which I never got to discover. There was glass and blood everywhere, it was a total mess!
Leeds had earlier been swamped with several visitors, most of whom had turned up for the annual event which until then had gone brilliantly.
A spokeswoman for Bar Soba said the venue had agreed to stage the event with an outside promoter, who was managing it.
The night was going well until it was “marred slightly by an altercation at the end of the night”
“The agreement was that we would shut the party down at the first sign of trouble, and that was what we did,” she added. Leeds is one of the most trendy cities in the UK, but has its own share of bad drama from time to time. The city is best known for the elite University of Leeds that draws some of the best A level students from around the country. Its social life is vibrant, but it unfortunately also sometimes draws a bad set of people from other parts of the country
