A group of masked yobs who smashed up a car with hammers and an axe before fleeing in Keighley last night were capture on footage shows the three thugs vandalising a blue Volkswagen Golf, which was parked on Upper Hird Street, at 11.18pm on Monday evening.
Two of the thugs first used hammers to smash the driver’s window before another person joins the attack with an axe in a selfish damage of the vehicle. It is unclear what they were searching for.
The Golf has now been put in compounded after the axe attack damaged the steering wheel and consoles.
Police are aware of the incident and are appealing for anyone who has information to come forward.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were contacted at about 11.25pm on Monday evening to a report a car has been vandalised on Upper Hird Street in Keighley.
“It was reported that a group of masked man had attended the street in a car at about 11.18pm and then damaged the victim’s vehicle before making of.
“Initial enquiries are ongoing and anyone who saw the offence or has information is asked to contact the Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 referencing crime number 13210548405.
