A man has been charged with the murder of mum Lauren Jade Howe, who tragically died in Baildon at the weekend.
West Yorkshire Police announced today that Charlie Booth, 27, of Tennis Way, has been charged with Lauren’s murder. He was remanded into custody to appear at Bradford Magistrates Court this morning.
Forensic investigators have been working the scene in Baildon, near Bradford, this week following Ms Howe’s death.
Lauren’s family have released a picture of her as friends and neighbours paid tribute to the young mum, 26, who they called ‘well liked and good with her kids’. Lauren’s family are being supported by officers.
Lauren, mum of two, tragically died in hospital on Sunday morning, July 24, after police were called out to Aire Way.
It added: ‘The family of Lauren have released a picture of her. They continue to be supported by specially trained officers.’
Tributes have been pouring in for Ms Howe on a Facebook page set up in her memory. A GoFundMe has also been created to help cover the funeral costs.
Aire Way and Tennis Way were both cordoned off throughout Sunday as police launched a murder investigation. Detective Superintendent Emma Winfield, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said on Sunday: “A woman has tragically lost her life and our thoughts are with her family and friends and those who knew her at this truly awful time.”
A fundraiser, arranged by family friend Toni Allen, has already raised £1,800 of its £2,000 goal.
Ms Allen said she was hoping to take some financial pressure off Ms Howe’s family.
She added: ‘If there is anything left after funeral costs I think it would be nice for it to go to her children Lucas and Alice.
‘Poor babies have been left without a mum it’s so heartbreaking, my condolences are with the family at this sad time
‘Rest in paradise Lauren you will be missed by many.’
Another sister, Leigha, added: ‘Missing my sister so much. I will always love her! You was a truly amazing mum to your kids and amazing sister to us all. You’ll always be in my heart forever and forever.’ [sic]
