Parents of the missing child, Madeleine McCann, expressed their unwavering determination to continue the search for their daughter.
A message on her facebook campaign page said that efforts persist “with the same determination, commitment, and vigour” and remain confident that their perseverance will eventually yield results.
The McCanns acknowledged the passage of another year, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to finding Madeleine.
In their heartfelt post, they expressed gratitude for the continuous support, Christmas wishes, and shared hope from well-wishers around the world.
Despite their own personal circumstances, the McCanns highlighted the global challenges and tragedies, including wars, immeasurable pain, and suffering, urging for a greater love for mankind, hope, and peace in the coming year.
Madeleine McCann disappeared in May 2007 while on holiday with her parents in Praia da Luz, Portugal. The McCanns had left their then three-year-old daughter and her younger twin siblings asleep in their apartment as they went out to dinner with friends.
The case captured international attention and became one of the most high-profile missing person cases in recent history.

Months after Madeleine’s disappearance, Portuguese police, during the September 2007 questioning of the McCanns, labeled them “arguidos” or suspects in their daughter’s disappearance.
This status led to a prolonged period of suspicion, even after the investigation was officially shelved in 2008. The couple continued to face scrutiny in Portugal for years, adding to the complexity of an already devastating situation.
Scotland Yard initiated Operation Grange in 2013, launching its investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance.
This marked a significant shift, and the Portuguese police confirmed the reopening of the case, acknowledging new lines of inquiry uncovered during a review of their original investigation.
The investigation has faced its share of challenges, including the delicate diplomatic balance between the UK and Portugal. The McCanns, once labeled suspects in Portugal, have sought justice for Madeleine and have continually called for the truth to be unveiled.
Recent reports indicated that Portuguese police issued an apology for the way detectives handled the case and treated the McCann family. This development underscores the complexity of the investigation and the toll it has taken on all involved.
The key suspect in the case, Christian Bruckner, has been at the center of attention, with ongoing efforts to gather evidence against him. The McCanns, while facing unimaginable challenges, remain hopeful that justice will prevail and that Madeleine will be found.
The passage of time has not diminished the resolve of her parents, who persist in their quest for answers, closure, and the safe return of Madeleine.
