A Lotto millionaire winner from Reading had two shocks in one day after she found out she’d won more than £1million.
Grandmother of three, Di Foster, logged into her National Lottery account via the app on April 25, after receiving an email saying she had won a prize, and saw she had won a whopping £1,049,669 on Lotto.
The 62-year-old then had another shock when her seven-year-old grandson presented her with a wish list of items he’d like from his now millionaire granny.
The grandmother couldn’t believe her luck after she logged into her National Lottery account via the app on Sunday 25 April after receiving an email saying she had won a prize, and saw she had won a whopping £1,049,669 on Lotto.
She had an even bigger shock when her cheeky 7-yearold grandson presented her with a wish list of items he’d like from his millionaire granny.
Di said, “As soon as he heard the news, my oldest grandson, Hayden disappeared with a sheet of paper and coloured pens. In all the commotion and excitement we didn’t think much of it until he reappeared a little later with a very sweet ‘shopping list’ of the things he’d like me to buy him and his brother Theo!
I won’t be buying him all of it but Hayden, Theo and their cousin will certainly have a few treats.
Laughing at the moment she discovered the win over her Sunday morning coffee, Di said, “When I received the email saying I had won a prize, I was trying to find what I had won in the National Lottery app and when I came across the £1,049,669 sum I was in complete shock!
I live alone and have formed a support bubble with my daughter’s family so I abandoned my coffee and rushed over to Kelly’s to get her to check I wasn’t seeing things.”
Much to her surprise, Di wasn’t seeing things so the pair immediately called Camelot to get the win confirmed, “My daughter had to pour me a glass of Brandy to help with my nerves as the lady on the phone confirmed I was a millionaire –
I just burst into tears of joy.”
Di and her two daughters Kelly 27, a lunchtime controller and Jodie 23, a waitress, are extremely close so top of Di’s own wish list is security for all three of them. She said, “This win means I can buy both my girls a house each and also one for me too, we’ve already started looking.
We want to live close to each other so I can see them and my grandkids as much as possible.” When thinking about future plans, Di loves the idea of getting a cottage
somewhere for the family to enjoy staycations and a shopping spree is definitely on the cards.

Di wasn’t seeing things very clearly, so the pair immediately called Camelot to get the win confirmed, “My daughter had to pour me a glass of Brandy to help with my nerves as the lady on the phone confirmed I was a millionaire – I just burst into tears of joy.”

Di bought her winning Lucky Dip ticket online, via the National Lottery app, for the Lotto Must Be Won draw on April 24. In a Must Be Won draw the jackpot has to be won, either by one winner or the jackpot rolls down and is shared by all cash winners
– Di was one of three winners who shared the Lotto jackpot on that night of destiny. The winning Lotto numbers for the draw on Saturday, April 24, 2021 were 16, 24, 29, 30, 32, 38 and the Bonus Ball was 1.
