Leed’s United Fan’s Body Found On Beach Near Grimsy

The body of a man  believed to be a Leeds United fan has been found on a beach near Grimsby. The fan had been out watching Wednesday’s play-off semi-final.
Gary Simpson from Leeds  had been working in the area, watching the match against Derby County with family members. Suddenly, he disappeared and the discovery of his body has shocked his family members and put them in a state of mourning.

After the match against Derby County, there had been a lot of drunken behaviour among fans, with pockets of disagreements breaking out among segments of fans. It is currently unclear how Simpson may have got caught up in any dispute arising from the drunken atmosphere, but somehow he ended up being murdered. West Yorkshire Police are still investigating and have been speaking to potential witnesses in the area. They are still seeking a breakthrough.

Members of  Simpson’s family have paid tribute to him on social media.His brother posted an appeal for information after he went missing following the game.A family member who confirmed the identity said:

He later posted: “Thank you all for your kind words no official confirmation but my son and my other brother know its him by a tattoo they’ve described to the police, he was found this morning at 9am, even though we lost at least he got to watch Leeds United before he left us.”A big thank you for all the kind words and support plus the messages, it honestly is comforting to see these messages from the Leeds family.

“Haven’t said this for years but love you Gaz mot.” Floral tributes, including Leeds United scarves, have been left near the seafront.
