Katie Price(pictured) has been declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill of more than £750,000.
The former glamour model had not responded to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) over the £761,994.05 debt, a court heard on Monday.
Ms Price, who was declared bankrupt in 2019 over unpaid debts, did not appear for the short hearing on Monday.
Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis told the hearing at London’s Rolls Building that the court had heard nothing from Ms Price.
“There is a substantial debt due from Ms Price to HMRC, and therefore I will make a bankruptcy order,” the judge said.
Judge Prentice said the bill “derives from self-assessments” for the years 2020-2021 and 2021-22 and includes income tax, VAT, surcharges and interest.
The model was ordered to pay almost half of her income from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans for the next three years by a different High Court judge as part of a separate dispute over unpaid debts.
Ms Price is due to face questions about her finances in April, the hearing was also told. She was also fined £880 last week for driving without insurance and a licence in Northamptonshire last August.
Last summer Ms Price discussed her bankruptcy on Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast, saying she had been to court “more times than I’ve had hot dinners” and would “genuinely” not care if she was jailed.
In March of last year, she told Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show that she had been struggling with her mental health in recent years, and that people should not be “ashamed” of being declared bankrupt.
During a hearing about her finances in October 2020, the former model said she hadn’t been “able to deal with these issues or in the right mental state to understand everything that has been going on.”
Last week, Price complained of being ill treated by her past boyfriends who she said were fine when they were with her, but turned awful once they were out of her life.
Last year, she was livid after it came to light thata numbe rof unsavoury police officers had spoken disparigingly of her blind son, Harvey.
