Kate Moss Says Johnny Depp Never Pushed Her Down Any Stairs

By Lucy Caulkett-

Kate Moss has said Johnny Depp “never” pushed her down any stairs, contrary to rumours discussed by Amber Heard during the US defamation trial.

The British supermodel said the actor, who she was in a relationship from 1994 to 1998, had not “pushed, kicked or threw me” down any stairs while they were together.

She appeared by videolink at Fairfax County District Court, Virginia, on Wednesday to give evidence which lasted barely two minutes.

Speaking from Gloucestershire, Moss said the allegation over the incident at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica was not true.

“We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did and there had been a rainstorm,” she said.

“As I left the room I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back and I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened to me.

“(Depp) came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”

She was called by Depp’s legal team, who appeared to celebrate when her name was mentioned by Heard during her evidence last week.

Depp, 58, is suing ex-wife Heard, 36, in a $50 million (£38.2 million) defamation lawsuit over abuse claims she made in a 2018 article in The Washington Post, although Heard did not specifically mention Depp by name in the op-ed.

The British supermodel, who dated Depp in the 1990s, appeared in court by video link from a location in Gloucestershire today (25 May).

The reason why she was brought in by Depp’s legal team was because, in court, Heard described a rumour that Depp had pushed Moss down a flight of stairs.

After Heard made the comment, as shown via viral video footage, Depp’s legal team were seen appearing to celebrate.

Now, after barely two minutes, Kate Moss has finished giving evidence.

Benjamin Chew asked the model, whether Depp had ever pushed her down stairs while they were in a relationship.

“No, he never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs,” Moss replied.

She added: “And I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened to me and I was in pain.

“And he [Depp] came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”

The supermodel, via videolink in Fairfax County District Court, said she slipped down the stairs while vacationing in Jamaica with the actor, which contradicts what was testified by Heard.

Cathy Russon, Executive Producer at Law&Crime Trial Network, who have been airing the trial, tweeted: “She says here had been a rainstorm and she slid down the stairs. She screamed. #JohnnyDepp ran back to help her and carried her to her room, got her medical attention.”Last week during her testimony, Heard suggested she’s being portrayed as being dishonest because Depp is a ‘bigger star’ and has ‘more publicity reach’.

She said: “My interest is in my name – in clearing my name. At the time, I was being called a ‘liar’ and my motives were being questioned.

“I did see it as important to clear that up.”

She added: “I wanted to make a statement to make sure there was not any doubt. That I couldn’t be labelled these things just because Johnny was the bigger star and had more publicity reach
