One of Jeremy Clarkson’s cars driven in The Grand Tour: Eurocrash is up for grabs in a prize draw for charity.
This is the first time one of Mr Clarkson’s cars has been available to win.
The money raised will go to The Mix, which provides free, confidential support for young people under 25 via online, social and mobile. They primarily deal with mental health issues, and provide useful support in that regard.
The Mix is the UK’s leading online charity for under 25s, reaching over 6.4 million young people each year. Many young people are struggling with the long-term effects of the pandemic, pressure in schools and the rising cost-of-living,
The charity connects young people to experts, to peers with lived experience ,and to trained counsellors to talk about everything from families to exams, homelessness to drugs with a particular focus on supporting better mental health.
The Mix’s support is free, confidential and can be accessed via its social media, peer support community, helpline and counselling services.
The charity said: “The luxury car features in the current season of The Grand Tour, and has been personally styled by Clarkson himself to boast twin chandeliers at the front and a Claymation print inside.
“Anyone can participate by purchasing a ticket online for just £5 with all proceeds going directly to The Mix and its vital services for young people.
“Now what are you waiting for? Go and enter The Grand Draw for a chance to win!”
Entry to the prize draw costs £5 for each ticket with every additional £5 donation giving another chance to win. People are allowed to contribute more than the ticket.
So far £23,590 has been raised through the draw which will close at 6pm on Sunday July 16, 2023.
The car has an MOT which is valid until July 2024
The car collector’s dream will be raffled as the incredible prize in The Grand Draw, an exciting fundraising initiative launched with The Mix. The charity hopes that Clarkson’s legions of fans will be tempted to take a chance on owning this piece of automotive history.
Anyone can participate by buying a ticket online and at Diddly Squat Farm Shop where the car will be on show. Tickets cost just £5 with all proceeds going directly towards the charity’s life-saving services for young people.
Fundraising for young people
Clarkson has been a supporter of The Mix for many years due to his interest in improving mental health provision for young people. The Mix is thrilled that his generous donation stands to raise much needed funds to support our ongoing work to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of young people.
Jeremy Clarkson said in a statement: “This car has never raced or rallied, but it has been shot at by Hungarian Archers.”
Lisa Hogan said: “I really wanted this car, but Jeremy wouldn’t let me have it on the farm. Knowing The Mix will be supported is a very good alternative. Good luck all!”
Andrew Harrison, Chair of Trustees at The Mix said, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jeremy Clarkson for his incredible generosity in donating his one-of-a-kind Mitsuoka Le-Seyde to The Mix’s Grand Draw. His support will make a significant impact on our ability to provide vital services to young people when they need it most. We are truly grateful for Jeremy’s commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.”
