Janet Jackson has announced that she would be releasing her first album’ unbreakable’ on October the 2nd, and this will be the singers first album in 7 years. The world acclaimed artist has already given us a taste of her handful of songs that include ‘No sleep’ ‘Burnitup’, which debuted on Radio 1 yesterday and which the star was proud to announce on tweeter. The collaboration was done with Missy Elliott who in a statement said ” I am still her(Janet’s) biggest fan. I still have to pinch myself when I call her and she picks up the phone or texts me, so for me I’m honored to be on any Janet record. Janet reciprocated, saying it is always good to work with friends and Janet is a good friend”
The American singer songwriter is known for her sexually provocative records and also signed the first of 2 record breaking multi million dollar contracts with virgin records that made her one of the highest paid in the industry. The youngest daughter of the Jackson family, she has always sought to carve out a niche for herself, thereby limiting any explicit references to her late brother, Michael, who was a universal wonder before his tragic passing away. She most likely doesn’t want to be perceived as walking in his shadows, especially as it will be a very tall order to expect her to fill in his shoes or even come close. In saying this, she is an outstanding artist herself, whose life has not followed any of the serious controversial headlines that dogged a fair part of her brother’s career. A television personality since the Jackson tv series in 1976, Jackson herself is class personified and sure to add more flavor to the music industry when her album is released. We wait with great anticipation.
