Internet Radio And Godaddy Blamed Each Other For Radio Defect

By Gabriel Princewill-

Internet radio and Godaddy blamed each other for a defect on our internet radio player, after it stopped working.

Representatives of Internet radio told The Eye Of Media.Com that the radio was playing perfectly on their end and that they were surprised Godaddy were unable to solve the problem. The radio stopped playing after Godaddy’s expert premium team were called to fix an anomaly with the site which caused it to malfunction. Godaddy premium experts said a code they used from a third party had led to the impediment on the radio player.

Goddady’s premium support service said:

”After a detailed investigation, I have confirmed that the radio widget has been implemented using the third-party tool. It seems that they have changed the code which loads the scripts from their server and it is causing the issue on your website .

Unfortunately, it is out of scope for the WPPS team to integrate and troubleshot third-party services’. The Godaddy representatives  provided a contact for the organisation, but a voicemail requested a password that we had never been given, and had no reason to have. A supervisor from the giant internet provider subsequently told The Eye Of Media.Com that a link from internet radio was not functioning normally.  The highly ranked Godaddy official said as a matter of practise they could not directly communicate with Internet radio, but sent us a message to send them. It read:

” The issues we are running into right now is the widget that is supposed to be pulling the internet radio is coming across the error “Error: Media URL could not be loaded. Check media URL is valid. (e_url context http://uk6.internet-radio.com:8428/stream) . When trying to access this page as well it does not load and continues to try and load with no success.

Is there a better link we can use to connect or stream the internet-radio functionality into the site?
Is there anything with the account that would be preventing this connection overall? What can we do to successfully connect these two and get them working. I have attached the page that loads when trying to go straight to the URL”.

The message from Godaddy was sent to Internet radio, but the latter fought back by sending a snapshot of the radio apparently functioning from their end, leaving all parties in a state of impasse with each passing day. Alongside the snapshot was a mail from internet radio stating:

”It opens fine in any web browser. It surprises me that GoDaddy can’t get that to work? The link automatically plays back the stream in any web browser.
As before, you can see that the Widget code works absolutely fine from within your control panels ‘Widget’ section if you test the preview”.Snapshot of radio sent

REFUND

With no end in sight to the problem, we decided to ask for a refund from internet radio for the month before the case was escalated to  their management. Eventually, a clear directive was sent from their management, recommending a solution to the problem.

An email from  them read:  ” Your email has been escalated to me as I see you’re having technical issues. I’ve had a look at your website and can see a couple of compounding issues with your embedded code snippet for your radio station. This is because the code snippet will no longer work because of a recent change in the Google Chrome browser. There’s another issue, probably related to you having the player.js twice on the page, but you’re going to need to update your site anyway so you may as well use the encrypted version of your stream. Codes for the encrypted version were then sent to us.

We sent the code to Godaddy, but they were still unable to solve the problem. Godaddy officials are always courteous and their word premium team are more often competent than not. They also seemed to make efforts to address the problem, but the real problem appeared to be that neither of the two parties-Godaddy or Internet radio knew how to solve the problem, until someone at the top came up with the perfect direction. The question is why it took that long to produce answers.

One of our IT technicians, had a shot at the problem, using the guidelines provided and got the radio working again within five minutes of attempting it. The question which will now be the subject of analysis, is who is accountable for the radio not working for the last month ? Traffic coming from the internet radio which covers 142 countries was affected for the entire period of the debacle, since no music was playing throughout that period.
