U.S based star, Idris Elba, is set to star in the action film Stay Frosty.
The characters in the script are based on the Tyler Marceca written script with Sam Hargrave in the director’s chair.
The British born actor is set to make mega bucks from his participation in the film, The Eye Of Media.Com has heard.
This news comes after Warner Bros. won a wild spec auction, paying over $1 million for the right to use the script. Alongside Elba and Hargrave, Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg will produce the film.
In Stay Frosty, the protagonist is in search of an assassin after surviving a bullet to the head. According to the story line, it is imperative that they stop the person responsible for his failed assassination attempt, and still make it in time to hang out with his son for Christmas.
The script has been described as a throwback to ’80’s action movies like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon courtesy of the Christmas setting which has a seasonal feel to it.
Elba is currently shooting for The Harder They Fall, a western directed by Jeymes Samuel and will also star in the upcoming James Gunn-directed Warner Bros movie The Suicide Squad based on the DC comic books.
Elba has appeared in numerous films including Ridley Scott’s American Gangster in 2007, and Prometheus in 2012. Elba portrayed Heimdall in Thor 2011 and its sequels Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Thor: Ragnarok (2017), as well as Avengers:
In 2015, he received a Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actor in Beast of No Award.
