The total lock down imposed on the Uk and many parts of the world should be seen as an opportunity for many people to develop self discipline and make various types of progress.
This may seem an ironic statement , but it is indeed an opportunity for people to explore their ambitions , reflect, and be more introspective. The setbacks are inescapable for many businesses, but for lots of people it can be utilised tremendously in manner that is both productive and rewarding. It all depends how we use the time and make it work for us. The lockdown is by no means a desirable state of affairs, but its so far appears inevitable to reduce the impact of the coronavirus on lives.
A vast majority of families will be able to spend more time in communication with family members from the same household, giving them more time to have the sort of meaningful conversations they may not have had sufficient time to have because of the usual entanglements of everyday life. The lockdown also presents a valuable opportunity for individuals to read motivational books they would not have otherwise had time to pick up, rest more, eat healthier meals. Individuals can also make long time plans which would have eluded them in the absence of such a crisis as this.
Additionally, it presents an opportunity for Brits to address their habits, especially with the knowledge that a weaker immune system makes them potentially more vulnerable to Covid- 19. The harmful effect of smoking tobacco and drugs on the immune system has been highlighted by medical experts. Avid smokers can seize this opportunity to consider radically curtailing their habit, or even dropping it completely, despite the urge to consume more tobacco to fill in the void of passing time.
The immeasurable damage of smoking to the health is a well known fact; the consequences of which could be serious in the event of an illness like Covid 19. A lockdown period like this is the best time for individuals to cultivate strong habits and abandon destructive ones. Excessive drinking for example is a form of escapism from addressing real underlying issues, or using it as a substitute for a feeling of emptiness, instead of seeking an innovative way of addressing one’s plight or using positive action to counteract negative emotions that drag us down.
Most compulsive drinkers will be inclined to continue their daily indulgence at home, but more prudent use of their time would see them think more deeply about their immediate and long term aspirations. Setting personal challenges to elevate themselves in one aspect of their lives or another is always a winner for every sensible person.
OPPORTUNITY
This period can be a brilliant opportunity to watch more educational documentaries, spend more time thinking up ideas to motivate your child and stimulate his or her mind. It can also be an opportunity to contemplate new methods to enrich your love life and improve your relationships. Opportunities like this don’t come that often for many people. Students who are still in education but find themselves confined to their homes due to the coronavirus have been afforded more time to enhance their knowledge about their studies and raise their expertise on various areas.
Given the unprecedented nature of the disruption caused to our daily routine by this virus, and the soaring death toll which poses a grim reminder of its malignant element, there has never been a better time for individuals as a whole to seize the opportunity to review their life style and consider making amendments where it would be fruitful to do so.
The idea of being confined to the four walls of our homes is not everybody’s cup of tea. Those who can work from home will keep themselves occupied with their profession, but others who are without employment may be bored sick of the uncertainty that underlies this extraordinary period of history.
The prospect of employment in these unpredictable times will seem bleak to those on the fringes, yet there are many opportunities for work that involves working from home or making a few calls to people who may have opportunities one did not imagine.
