London – ITV has officially confirmed that popular presenter Holly Willoughby will make a comeback to “Dancing on Ice” in January 2024.
The announcement has put an end to the speculations surrounding Willoughby’s return to the show, which has been eagerly anticipated by fans.
Holly Willoughby, 42, took a hiatus from television screens after bidding farewell to “This Morning” in October, concluding her remarkable 14-year tenure on the show.
Her departure coincided with Phillip Schofield’s exit from ITV earlier in the year, following his admission of having an affair with a younger male former colleague on “This Morning.”
The latest development confirms that Holly Willoughby will resume her hosting duties on “Dancing on Ice,” providing continuity to her association with the beloved show.
She will be stepping back onto the ice alongside new co-host Stephen Mulhern, known for his role on “Deal or No Deal.”
Stephen Mulhern is set to replace Phillip Schofield as Willoughby’s co-host on “Dancing on Ice.” This collaboration marks a reunion for Willoughby and Mulhern, who first worked together 20 years ago on the Saturday morning children’s show “Ministry Of Mayhem,” later titled “Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown.”
The duo briefly teamed up in 2022 when Mulhern filled in for Schofield after he tested positive for Covid-19. Their on-screen chemistry and camaraderie have endeared them to viewers over the years, making their reunion a highlight for fans.
Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, expressed excitement about the reunion, stating, “Holly and Stephen are two of our best-loved presenters, so reuniting them 20 years after they first appeared on screen together to host Dancing On Ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show.”
The judging panel for the upcoming season of “Dancing on Ice” will feature familiar faces, including Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo, and Oti Mabuse.
The celebrity lineup for the 2024 season includes former world champion boxer Ricky Hatton, Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney, singer Hannah Spearritt, West End star Amber Davies, and Olympian Greg Rutherford.
