Eccentric and larger than life personality, Heavy D, who regularly features on Arsenal fan television, has come to the defense of Arsenal manager, Wenger, hailing him as one of the best managers ever, stating that a statue should be built of him when he leaves Arsenal.
Considering the amount of criticism the manager has had to endure of late, Heavy D’s praise for Wenger will raise eye brows, especially among hard core disgruntled Arsenal fans.
He won’t be alone in supporting Wenger though, despite the extent to which they have labored in the seasons championships. Heavy D, whose intrusive and unpredictable antics has made him a bit of a mysterious character, believes the Arsenal manager is getting more stick than he deserves. Heavy D says Wenger should rather be lauded for his achievements for the club.
He told The Eye Of Media.com ”when he leaves, they should make a statue of him. He is the most successful manager in the history of Arsenal. Nothing lasts forever, and everything must come to an end, he says. However, I genuinely fear for Arsenal’s future once Wenger leaves. It will be hard for anyone to match his achievements. I’m a bit concerned about a future for Arsenal without Wenger, he said”.
Arsenal managed a 0-0 draw against Sunderland on Sunday at the stadium of light, and have of late struggled to show the kind of star quality many fans want to see them demonstrate. A passionate fan of Arsenal, also immersed in the world of fashion, dancing, and music, this multi-dimensional character has always craved from an early age to stand out from the rest. ”Fashion is an expression of my personality,he says, from an early age, I thought why blend in with everyone when I can stand out?
And stand out, he does, prompting a curious inquisition as to what induces his exuberant personality and powerful energy. Heavy d got his name from another rapper whilst at school.
He blends acting with music, and assessing football on you tube- Arsenal TV. Some of his antics can be both annoying and exciting; but I tell him he is certainly made for television entertainment.
Currently in the process of bringing out an Arsenal anthem, his enthusiasm for his beloved Arsenal exceeds their performance in these premierships. ”Being an Arsenal fan isn’t easy, as Arsenal football is always in the spotlight for some reason, whether good or bad”. I love Arsenal so much that I have made a song which has an underlying serious message telling Arsenal fans to get behind their team at home matches’. Arsenal have a reputation of being too quiet at the Emirates”he says.
A divided club, Heavy D admits many of his fellow fans have become disillusioned with Wenger, and are keen to see the back of him. Some say he is stubborn, incompetent, others say he lacks the tactical nous to lead the team. What then does the future hold for Arsenal?
”I would love to see Wenger leave on a high, but that doesn’t look likely, she has become a figure of hate in the emirates. It’s a shame and I don’t agree with this because of what he has done for Arsenal and football in general, he says. I can’t think of a better coach of young players in the last 20 years- he has put together players on a shoe string budget
Heavy D features in a new series of storage hunters at 8 pm every Tuesday evening on Dave (Uk). Expect more stunts, more booms, and winding people up.
