Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to reunite with the senior royals Friday as they attend the service at the Cathedral.
The pair, who were not on the balcony during Thursday’s Trooping The Colour, will attend the service of thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral Friday morning for Queen Elizabeth’s continued Platinum Jubilee celebrations honouring her 70 years on the throne.
The service will include bible readings, prayers and congregational hymns to recognise and give thanks for the Queen’s reign, faith, and life time of service”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the United Kingdom this week in honour of the monarch and were seen celebrating with royal family members at the Trooping the Colour parade. The have been a controversial figure in the Uk ever since their interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
However, there have been claims that all parties in the royal family feus have been slowly working towards some kind of reconciliation in their own way, though the rift has been tangible and under the extra pressure of the public glare.
Historic moments like this will at least see emotions behind all past feuds suspended as members and former members of the royal family unite to celebrate the Queen’s long reign, as they also potentially seize the opportunity to make all possible progress in their relationships.
The family will want to focus on fun memories and enjoy the things and qualities that unite them.
There will be the background subconscious awareness of the unresolved issues still lingering in the air among various members, though there is no knowing how much may have bene addressed behind closed doors.
Harry is known to have been particularly upset at earlier announcements this year that Camilla Parker will be the Queen consort when Prince Charles takes over the throne.
Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ relationship began while he was still married to Princess Diana.
After Prince Charles and Diana divorced in 1996, the British people practically rejected Camilla, and struggled hard to accept her at all. The tension was so intense that Queen Elizabeth reportedly refused to attend her son’s 50th birthday party because Camilla would be in attendance,
However, the royal family have decided that if Camilla is the eternal choice of Prince Charles, they will have to accept her and move on for the sake of the family. Individual choices are not always to everyone’s taste, but can be problematic when they interfere with serious relationships like marriage.
This has had a severe impact on Prince Harry for obvious reasons, and will take a lot of private discussions between the royals , healing, and potentially therapy to move on from everything. He would have had time to think and address those issues in his mind, but that doesn’t always guarantee closure.
Prince Andrew will be absent from the occasion after catching Covid-19, so will escape any unwanted media scrutiny had he attended.
The coming together to celebrate the queen’s reign could be a good start for appreciating what the monarch represents, and strive to preserve its essence, including the family values of togetherness and harmony.
