Casino Manager Accused Of Discriminatory Abuse Of Power

By Eric King-

Southend Grovesnor Casino manager, Kevin Harrison,  has been accused of abusing his power in a discriminatory manner by ejecting a black male from the casino he manages after his deputy permitted his entry.

Harrison gave no explanation for overruling his deputy, Steve Crump who decided to let the gentleman in the club
The gentleman in question told The Eye Of Media.Com that he was originally ejected by a doorman who had accused him of consuming alcohol he had not paid for, but a request for CCTV evidence to back the doorman’s claims came up with nothing. The complainant insists he was permitted by his friends who were smoking in the smoking area to consume the drink because they did not like it.

When the doorman refused to accept his account of why he took the drink, nor confirm whether the male indeed had friends or associates in the premises, he accused the doorman of being racist. The man was subsequently barred from the casino building, but later complained to the deputy manager. He overruled the doorman and allowed the man back into the Casino. However, within 24 hours, the deputy manager’s arrogant boss, Steve, overruled his deputy and ejected the black man without providing any reason. The black man was also forced to give up a drink he paid for without being compensated.

The man complained to their Head Office who shamelessly backed their man. Current Southend MP for Southend, James Dudderidge is looking at the case closely, but his office says the Casino has 30 days to respond comprehensively to the allegations. The MP is also expected to clear up whether Genting Casino is acting unlawfully in being able to refuse or eject customers without providing any reason. The complainant says the rule is discriminatory Casinos like Gentings say that as a private licensed organization, they reserve the right to exclude or refuse entry to any individuals.

There are a number of elements to this position because if the casino industry has this practice, it establishes their ownership and authority over any of their premises. Whether this is lawful is another matter. An unrestrained freedom to allow or eject members of the public allows such organizations to discriminate if they want to. It doesn’t seem to make much sense when the general manager of an organization overrules his deputy without any solid reason.

Kevin Harrison has been working for the company for 14years in various roles and clubs.

In his Linkedin page, he says he has enjoyed ”the launch of this new business, launching the newest Casino in the Rank group”. He then claims to have excellent leadership skills, drive, and passion for the products I deliver. However, his leadership skills are under scrutiny now., because a man who undermines his deputy under these circumstances and undermines the principles of justice does not appear to be much of a leader. Harrison is accused of undermining the principles of justice and abusing his managerial authority.
