Father’s Death From Coronavirus Leads To Social Distance Warning From Grieving Aunt

A grieving aunt of a man who died of the Coronavirus has sent a message warning members of the pubic to remain cautious and compliant with the imposed lockdown in the Uk.

June Edwards,70 from Hertfordshire  lost her nephew, John Green(pictured) to the coronavirus last Friday.  Originally from Islington London, Green moved to Beckleyheath  where he lived for many years until his tragic death. Sad and distraught, she attacked the insensitivity of any members of the public who she says are not respecting social distancing when they are out and about. June has complained that many people make her uncomfortable by walking or riding very close to her despite her being in the high risk age group.

She told The Eye Of Media.Com:

”The current pandemic has come to mean more to me now that I have suffered a bereavement as a direct result of the virus. Until this happened, the threat was somehow theoretical, something that affected other people. Now it has become personal. I received a text message from my nephew John Green on 23 March in which he said, “We’re all fine thank you but all in doors as I have the symptoms.”

He died of the disease last Friday evening, 24 April, just a month later. This came as a complete shock. I do not know the details of how he caught it. All I know is that he was taken to hospital and put on a ventilator at some stage. I do not believe he ever recovered consciousness”.

John had recently turned 50, which June considers ” relatively young”. He leaves a wife Jo, a 19 year-old son, Ronnie and Mia, a daughter of 16. In a warm tribute to her nephew she said:

”I have always known John to be a loving husband and good father, somebody you could look up to and admire. He always had a zest for life and an outgoing personality and an understanding nature. I cannot say how much this has upset my whole family. I feel his loss very deeply. As an example of John’s support for his family he sent me a text on 31 August last year in which he said, “Ronnie and Jo went to Hungary last week and Ronnie won an under 21s team silver for Great Britain. I am very proud.

My other motive is to point out to people that there is a good reason for respecting the space of other people that you pass in the street. When I walk outdoors for my daily exercise I find that many people, pedestrians and cyclists alike, come very close when they walk by. I find this this disturbing. Ms Edwards says the family is heartbroken and shocked by his death. ”You never think it will happen to you until it does. I admired the way your news outlet fully supported the lockdown and promoted warnings about the importance to observe it, my daughter follows your site on twitter you see, is full of admiration about the way you  have had the interest of the country at heart”.
