The Sammie Jones-
The evil brute guilty of murdering British backpacker Grace Millane has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum non-parole period of 17 years in the Auckland High Court on Friday.
His sentence follows a November hearing last year, in which a jury of seven women and five men convicted the then 27-year-old man whose identity has been withheld under legal orders, murdered Millane in the Auckland CityLife hotel on December 1 or 2, 2018 after a roughly four-hour Tinder date. The killer tried to fool the court that Miller’s death was a sex game gone wrong,
“Manual strangulation is a particularly intimate form of violence … cold-blooded,” Moore said. “Your actions reveal a complete disregard for your victim.”“You didn’t ring an ambulance, or call the police, instead you embarked on a well-planned and sustained and coordinated course of action to conceal any evidence of what had occurred in your room.”
TERROR AND PAIN
Grace’s mother told her killer via video link that she thinks about “the terror and pain she must have experienced at your hand”.
“she died terrified and alone in your room”.The man was sentenced at Auckland High Court to a minimum of 17 years in jail. She said: “Grace wasn’t just my daughter. She was my friend. My very best friend.
“I am absolutely heartbroken that you have taken my daughter’s future and robbed us of so many memories that we were going to create.
“The tears I shed are never-ending at the thought of never having the chance to kiss my Grace goodbye.” Her daughter’s murderer held his head in his hands as he listened to the impact his “barbaric actions” have had on his victim’s family.
“I torment myself over what you did to my Grace, the terror and pain she must have experienced at your hands. As a mother I would have done anything to change places with her.
