A former drug baron from Cambridgeshire who was on probation after serving 8 1/2 years in jail, has been arrested by cops after being on the run for two months.
Marcus Brown, 63 from Cambridgeshire, had been on the run since cops knocked on his door in January of this year, following a very suspicious recall back to prison in January- a month after he put in a complaint to the police professional standards about an alleged corruption he believed is responsible for his son being in prison.
Brown was arrested by Leicestershire police yesterday morning, as he foolishly attempted to work at a boatyard in Leicestershire, whilst on the run, despite being fully aware of a warrant for his arrest. Cops had been looking for Mr.Brown since January 21, 2022 for an alleged offence of conspiracy supply class A drugs in August, 2020, despite the fact he had attended his probation meetings regularly since then.
The self employed man’s family moved out of their former property in Cambridgeshire last week due to a high rent costs in light of his unemployed status, due to the recall.
His family have long accused Greater Manchester Police and the probation services of deliberately recalling him in an attempt to prevent him from pursuing a private prosecution against the police force for the continued detention of his son, Aaron Brown, who has been in prison since 2016.
Aaron, 33, was held in prison in 2016, after the mother of his child, Jessica Myles was given an Osman warning, indicating a threat to her life. Her partner at the time Michael Wood, was also given an Osman warning by Greater Manchester Police.
Suspicions began to rise heavily, after probation services in Cambridgeshire changed teams, and another Wood turned up among them by the name of Paul Wood. Michael Wood’s sister , called Joanne Wood works for Greater Manchester Police, raising suspicions high that the recall was a corrupt way of having Stephen Brown in prison.
Before the recall, Mr Brown had attended probation meetings dutifully with no incident for months.
His family have contacted their MP Stephen Barclays on numerous occasions, calling for his intervention in this case. But the Mp insisted his hands were tied until he returns to prison.
24 hours before his arrest, Brown’s daughter, Tiffany Brown sent medical confirmation of her seven year old’s daughter’s dependence on her father for her disability, in order to appeal to his conscience. She also sent a copy to Head Of Cambridgeshire probation services, Matthew Rider, for his record.

His distressed family say he has attended his probation appointment every month since December 2020, and attended his last appointment on December 2o, 2021. He has never been given a warning since he was recalled.
Brown has a young grand daughter of seven years of age, who is dependent on him for medical treatment. His daughter, Tiffany Brown sent medical evidence of her daughter’s illness to Mp.Barclays office 24 hours before her father was arrested. She also sent probation services who ordered the recall.
The Ministry of Justice and the Parole board service were contacted for comment.
