Forensic teams worked late into the night at the park, recovering items and placing them into evidence bags. A blue forensic tent was set up at the scene as staff took pictures of the scene and logged evidence. Police officers guarded several sites in and around the park, which had been cordoned off. Numbered yellow evidence markers had also been placed on the ground at various locations. This meticulous process helps detectives piece together the events of the evening.

Police Investigate the Isolated Clissold Park Shooting
Detective Superintendent Oliver Richter released a statement about the ongoing investigation. He confirmed that police are in the early stages of their work. They believe the man and woman knew each other. Richter also stated that the incident is being treated as isolated, with no wider risk to the public. He added that officers are still working to establish what happened and have not commented on who fired the weapon. A crime scene remains in place, and a heightened police presence is expected in the area. Hackney Council announced on social media that it was “supporting the police with their investigations” and that the park would remain closed. The council advised residents that the park would reopen once police completed their work. This tragic event has prompted a swift and thorough response from authorities.
