An evil man has been convicted of raping and murdering his friend after a night out. After killing Keeley Bunker, Wesley Streete then hid her body in a pond.
Cruel Wesley Streete brutally killed Keeley Bunker, dumped her body face-down in a brook in a park in Tamworth, before trying to conceal his crime with branches on September 19 last year.
Ms Bunker’s uncle Jason Brown discovered her partially submerged body during a massive search effort involving family, friends and police
The convicted monster repeatedly denied having involvement in the death of the slimly built lady who fatally trusted her killer. He killed 20-year-old Ms Bunker as they returned to their hometown of Tamworth after a night out celebrating her birthday, changing his account at least four times before trial at Stafford Crown Court.
He claimed to have had consensual sex before he accidentally strangled her.
However, a jury at Stafford Crown Court saw through his web of lies and convicted him of murder after 8 hours of deliberation. They also found guilty of two other counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and a charge of sexual activity with a child, against three other victims, said to have happened in previous years.
One of a number of different versions of events Streete had told the victim’s family and police, before and after his arrest.
Friends
Streete and Keeley Bunker had been friends for some time. They had organised to meet up, along with Keeley’s friend, in Birmingham for a night out.
The couple went partying in a nightclub before getting a taxi back to Tamworth together, in the early hours of September 19th. Keeley Bunker’s friend had told the court that the two girls were not drunk, but Streete was, and that he felt sick on the taxi ride home.
The three got out of the taxi at Keeley Bunker’s friend’s house, where she got changed and decided to walk home, placing mistrusted faith in her friend, who offered to walk with her.

Lies
Streete originally said he’d walked with Keeley to a phone box, where they parted company. In actual fact, he walked through Wigginton Park. CCTV footage shown to the jury pictured the pair clashing – which Streete had claimed was a play fight.
There, Streete raped his friend, and strangled her. He subsequently dumped her body in a nearby pond, covering it with twigs
