When we hear of despicable crimes like this, it makes us wonder what type of people exist in our society and begs the question whether we really know people we think are close to us. Evil Nathan Matthews will serve at least 33 years of his life sentence for the cruel murder of his stepsister, Becky Watts, following the sentence dished out by trial judge Justice Dingeman. His pathetic and cruel girlfriend, Shauna Hoare, 21, will serve 17 years’ imprisonment for the manslaughter of the 16-year-old. Justice Dingerman was overwhelmed with emotion as he told the evil 28 year old he had no doubt the murder was premeditated judging from the considerable force of suffocation involved that led to her death. Stupid Hoare was at times giggling and other time sin the trial making silly faces , really to deliberately give the impression she wasn’t bothered about the trial or did not have any remorse whatsoever. However, she will have a torrid time in jail and will surely be bullied for her role in the murder, even if she has not foreseen this likelihood.
TARGET
The evil pair targeted the 5ft 1in teenager to fulfil a sexual fantasy they had in petite pretty girls and feed their dislike towards her. It did not matter that she was step sister to Nathan Matthews, his warped sexual urges were more important than her precious life or the high likelihood that he would be investigated for any crime committed against her, and even convicted. When people with depraved minds are bent on an outcome, they usually stop at nothing to achieve that. This was what evil Matthews and his girlfriend did. Matthews had initially pretended to know nothing about his step sister’s whereabouts until he knew he was trapped before he claimed to dislike the way she was treating her mother for which reason he tried to ”scare her” according to the rubbish he could conjure under the pressure of police interrogation. Let’s make no mistake, it is possible that the murdered girl indeed was doing something that did not seat well with Matthews- she may even have been disrespecting her mother for reasons of her own. This, however, is no reason to harbour such evil thoughts against her, and provides no justification for the underlying sexual motive behind such painfully wicked act
Nathan Matthews was an addict of pornographic material and had become obsessed with the idea of having threesomes. Unlike others who may share his taste for threesomes, the monstrous animal had other ideas about how to implement his fantasies. He mastered a plan with his girlfriend via text messages to kidnap pretty school girls for sex, before devising a plan to kidnap poor Becky from her home in Crown Hill in Bristol and drive her there. Exactly what happened there is anyone’s guess, but confirmation that she died of strangulation and suffered more than 40 injuries suggests she resisted the warped advances of Matthews and his girlfriend and paid with her life. Matthews must have tried to force her into sexual acts against her will, leading to a resistance and struggle that escalated into high tempers and then murder. Evil rapists usually get a kick from subduing their victims when the y struggle.
DISMEMBERED
The judge said that Becky was murdered in her bedroom or on the landing of her home and then transported to Cotton Mill Lane. At some stage Becky’s body was dismembered with a power saw, which Nathan Matthews had purchased from B&Q the day after Becky had been murdered,” he said. Then the evil couple callously laughed as they watched a parody of a Disney Frozen song, entitled Do You Want To Hide A Body, while Becky’s remains lay just rooms away. How wicked are some human beings? The judge spoke about how overwhelming the details of the case had been on himself and the entire court. The jury at Bristol Crown Court took just three hours and 27 minutes to convict Matthews of Becky’s murder, while Hoare was found guilty of the teenager’s manslaughter.
Both were convicted of kidnap, perverting the course of justice, preventing a lawful burial and possessing two stun gun torches.
DESPICABLE
Becky’s father, Darren Galsworthy, spoke of the “despicable act of evil” committed by Matthews and Hoare.
In a victim impact statement read to the court, he said: “We will never understand why this happened but we now believe we were just disposable pawns in a plot borne out of hatred, jealousy and greed.
“The heartless, cold and calculating perpetrators of this despicable act of evil can never be forgotten or forgiven.
“This act of violence sent shock waves through not only our family but the whole country and further afield.
“The betrayal we feel is insurmountable. It would have been much kinder to have killed us all, than to have to cope with the aftermath of this crime.”
Karl Demetrius, 30, and Jaydene Parsons, 23, who admitted assisting Matthews to hide Becky’s body parts in their shed, will be sentenced in February.
Becky’s grandfather John Galsworthy told reporters outside the court that the family would now focus on re-establishing their bonds.
“You can imagine that our emotions are full today, it has been overwhelming for us,” he said.
“We are here now at the end of a long and painful journey for when all has been said and done and justice has had its full demands met and been satisfied.
“Time can never heal but it will allow us to come to terms with our loss and live the lives with this experience now part of us and the lesson learned from it.
“Our focus now will be on our family, to hopefully strengthen and support each other with a view that the strong family bond that Becky valued so much can once again be established.”
