Evil Couple Who Set Up Honey Trap Against Love Rival Jailed For Attempted Murder After Shooting Ex Boyfriend

By James Simons-

An evil  “jealous and insecure” boyfriend and  girlfriend he persuaded to meet her ex-partner so he could shoot him dead have been jailed for a combined total of 57 years .

Daniel Gaudin and Shannon Rule travelled by train from Waltham Forest to Merton on June 22, 2021 as part of their  monstrous and calculated plan to commit murder.

Shannon Rule, 22 from Waltham Cross travelled from Essex to meet the other 25-year-old man, whose identity has been withheld for legal reasons.

Gaudin had previously become aware that the man was also in a relationship with Rule at the same time as him and sent a number of threatening texts to his rival. Eventually he persuaded Rule to lure him to a meeting near the victim’s home in Morden.

Friends of the couple  anonymously told The Eye Of Media.Com that intimidating Gaudin(pictured) had both threatened Rule(pictured left) and offered her money to comply with his desperate demands to ”gun down” the man.

Unaware that it was a trap, the victim agree to meet up, believing he would meet Rule alone to discuss the situation. On Tuesday, June 22, Rule met the victim on Central Road at the junction with Abbotsbury Road before Gaudin appeared and shot him multiple times without warning in front of horrified onlookers.

Once their target was cornered, and  Rule spoke to the man, Gaudin appeared and shot him several times in front of terrified onlookers in broad day light.

Miraculously, he survived the attack as he fled for his life, but he was left with life changing injuries,

The victim, who is lucky to be alive, was rushed to hospital by paramedics and he still needs ongoing treatment to this day, the Met Police said. When quizzed by detectives, Rule denied knowing Gaudin had a gun or that he intended to shoot the victim.

Unfortunately for her, her lies quickly unravelled when officers discovered multiple texts she had sent to the victim warning him about Gaudin and she even told him Gaudin had a firearm. At Kingston Crown Court on Wednesday, Rule was jailed for 30 years, while Gaudin was sentenced to 27 years in prison, with an extra two-year extended licence once he is released.

Rule, of Chingford, east London, was found guilty by a jury of attempted murder after a trial, whereas Gaudin, from Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, pleaded guilty to the same charge at an earlier hearing. The victim has been left paralysed from the waist down and is wheelchair bound, needing round the clock care.

Detective Inspector Iain Wallace, the officer who led the investigation for the Met Police, said on Thursday that it was a “ruthless and calculated” attack.

Rule was sentenced to 30 years yesterday after being convicted by a jury. Gaudin admitted attempted murder and was jailed for 27 years.

The male victim was shot multiple times in front of onlookers in broad daylight outside a Sainsbury’s supermarket after the couple travelled from Waltham Forest to Merton.

Rule had been in a relationship with both the victim and Gaudin in the lead up to the attack, but the two men did not know each other, police said. When Gaudin discovered Rule had been seeing the other man he sent a string of threatening texts to him.

The victim, a previous partner of Rule, received threatening texts once Gaudin became aware of him, as the full impact of jealousy kicked in.

The pair travelled by train to Morden from Waltham Forest, north east London, to carry out the ambush. In the aftermath of the shooting, the pair fled the scene but their escape route led them right back towards the scene, where firearms officers who arrived in the area saw the suspects and arrested them.

The victim was rushed to hospital by paramedics with life-changing injuries and he still needs ongoing treatment to this day, the Met Police said. When quizzed by detectives, Rule denied knowing Gaudin had a gun or that he intended to shoot the victim.

They dubiously lured him to the public location, near his home, where the victim had expected to discuss the situation with Rule alone.

Gaudin was caught on CCTV hiding nearby – before shooting the victim multiple times in front of members of the public.

The police were called at 2.03pm on 22 June 2021 to Central Road, Morden where they found the shooting victim with multiple injuries. He was rushed to hospital.

Judge Peter Lodder KC said: “Over the following days, it is clear that you, Shannon Rule, were very worried you would lose Gaudin as a boyfriend, and you were prepared to go to any lengths to maintain the relationship.”

The pair appeared at Kingston Crown Court for sentencing on Wednesday (April 5).

Gaudin, 23, of Cranleigh Close, Waltham Cross, was jailed for 27 years, with an additional two year extended licence.

Rule was found guilty and Gaudin pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.

The horror story that unfolded revealed an evil and conniving plot to eliminate their target in the most vicious manner.

The court heard that Rule had been in a relationship with both the victim and Gaudin but the two men did not know each other.

Gaudin became aware of the other man and sent several threatening texts to him.

Matters escalated dramatically when Gaudin enlisted Rule to lure the man to a meeting near his home in Morden, where he would then shoot him.

The unknowing victim agreed, believing he would meet Rule alone to discuss the situation.

Rule met the victim before Gaudin appeared and shot him multiple times without warning.

Scores of people watched the incident unfold.

Police were called just after 2pm to Central Road, at the junction with Abbotsbury Road.

The victim was rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service paramedics.

He requires ongoing treatment to this day.

Gaudin and Rule had fled the scene immediately after the shooting, but their escape route actually led them back towards the scene of the crime.

Stationed firearms officers saw the suspects, arrested them and they were taken into custody and interviewed.

Detective Inspector Iain Wallace, the officer who led the investigation, said: “The sentences handed down show how seriously the Judge deemed the actions of Rule and Gaudin.

“Our thoughts foremost are with the young man whose life was changed in an instant following a shocking and utterly needless act of wanton violence, born out of Gaudin’s sheer jealousy and insecurity.

“He had no idea of what would unfold that day and the terrible injuries he sustained will mean he needs assistance for the rest of his life. I hope the convictions we have seen today will allow he and his family some small measure of comfort.

“Gaudin and Rule have paid the price for their ruthless, calculated attack with their freedom. There is no place for violence on our streets and anyone concerned in such violence can be assured that the Met will stop at nothing to bring offenders to justice.”
