Brussels representatives have condemned Boris Johnson’s rhetoric of “false promises, pseudo-patriotism and foreigner-bashing” as one which will fail to secure a productive Brexit
The dismissal by Guy Verhofstadt of Johnson’s plans to dump Theresa May’s withdrawal agreement spells doom for Brexit plans even before it has started. Verhofstadt categorically dismissed Johnson’s pans to withhold payment of the UK’s £39bn divorce bill and still negotiate a free-trade deal in Brussels as a “myth”.
He added that years after the referendum, Johnson was “a man who continues to dissemble, exaggerate and disinform”. The damning comments stresses the disaster that awaits Brexit talks once Johnson enters Downing Street, a position that could be the beginning of economic doom for the Uk, unless other trade agreements with the U.S and a number of countries turns out to be enough to sustain citizens of the Uk.
Verhofstadt’s view reflects the general outlook of EU influential powers , who already see a no deal Brexit as the inevitable outcome of Johnson’s leadership if , and when he becomes prime minister of Britain. EU leaders have always been very critical of the position taken by Johnson during the referendum campaign and don’t appear to have much trust or regard for the highly accomplished Conservative leadership hopeful.

SCRUTINY
Johnson has come under intense scrutiny in the last week over his refusal to answers put to him by journalists about his leadership campaign and a recent row with his girlfriend, Carrie Symonds, which Johnson has insisted is a private matter. In an article published by the Project Syndicate website and the Guardian, the former prime minister of Belgium said about Johnson and his rival, Jeremy Hunt, who also claims to be able to to renegotiate the Brexit deal, have “learned nothing whatsoever” from the last two years”. Johnson’s optimism of persuading the EU to ditch the backstop is completely groundless if EU bosses are already determined to reject it.
Britain is therefore heading for a no deal Brexit since EU officials will not budge, and euro sceptic mps supporting Johnson have already told the former Foreign Secretary to take the Uk out of the EU by October, no mater what.
