Employers must improve wage packages in 2018 after all the revelations of underpayments in 2017.

News that a voluntary scheme has been set up for premiere clubs to raise wages from £8 an hour to £10 an hour is a move that must spread across several organisations in the UK.

Although the minimum wage in the UK is £7.80, profitable companies must respond to the call to raise the pay of their employees next year to £10 an hour. Fat cat employers should not wait for the government to raise the minimum wage before they act with integrity and improve the standard of living of their employees.

Many employers are in a position to pay their employees better , but prefer to pay the minimum in order to maintain their maximum pay.
With the uncertainties surrounding the impact of Brexit, employers should take on the duty to contribute to improving the economic standard of their employees . The public have an important role to play and should get their colleagues to urge their employers to raise their wage.
