By Eric King-
A pathetic drunk who had a “drunken rant” at police officers for buying fast food at McDonalds was arrested as he attempted to drive away. The odd incident happened at the Gapton Hall Industrial Estate.
The foolish man made comments to officers as they purchased food in Great Yarmouth at 4am on Friday. Norfolk police revealed it was their first meal since starting their shift at 10pm, but the drunk man who had exceeded his limits had little of his senses left to realise he was talking to cops who have a right to buy what food they want when they choose. His most stupid offence was failing to recognise his drunk state was obvious, and that he was soon to enter his car in his drunken state which would drqw the immediate attention of the cops.
His comments were completely unwarranted but evidenced his drunk state of mind. The man in his 30s then got into a vehicle and attempted to drive away, before the officers saw their opportunity and pounced on him. After refusing to provide a breath test, he was subsequently arrested for failing to provide a breath test.
It is one thing to drink, but when one drinks so much that they don’t know what they are doing, they just make themselves look stupid. Ranting at a police officer in a drunken state then trying to drive a vehicle is the most stupid thing anybody can do. The man is still in custody and is to be questioned later today.
Great Yarmouth Police tweeted: “If you’re going to have a drunken rant at my officers for buying fast food at 4am (first chance they had to eat since booking on at 10pm), don’t then get into your car whilst still drunk and try to drive it off.
“Unless you actually prefer the food in custody…”
