Dillian Whyte has finally signed his contract to take on Tyson Fury for the WBC world heavyweight title this spring.
The Brixton man secured his WBC mandatory title shot after knocking out Povetkin last March, while Fury retained his WBC belt with an 11th-round knockout of Deontay Wilder in October
Whyte was initially displaying a troubling reluctance to sign the contract as late as Monday evening, as Fury took social media to call on him to ink the contract.
However, Fury and Whyte have now signed contracts to guarantee their all-British clash, with the fight expected to take place at Wembley on April 23..
Fury’s co-promoters Frank Warren and Bob Arum won the purse bid with a record offer of £31m, of which Whyte is entitled to 20% of the purse, entitling him to £6.2m
Whyte had been kept waiting for his shot at a world title for years whilst Deontey Wilder was Wbc champion.
Fury said: “I just heard that little sausage Dillian Whyte wants paying to turn up for a press conference. You little silly fat sausage, you’re getting that [a fist], you coward..
“Hi guys, just a quick one. I’m setting up a Just Giving page for Dillian Whyte so he can show up to the press conference and I’m going to donate first. My donation is 47p, you useless dosser.”
Fury has spent his whole career talking big and delivering every time so far. The challenge Whyte poses is not expected to be any different , but the Brixton man is known to be a tough all out fighter who gives it his all every time he steps into the ring. Tyson Fury is undefeated in 32 fights with just one draw against U.S hitman, Deontey Wilder, whom he has beaten twice. The gypsy king is very difficult to beat, though Whyte has beaten a few unbeaten world class men in his time, and always puts up a war on each showing.
Whyte said: “Wherever they want the fight, whenever they want the fight, I don’t care.
“I’ve been trying to fight him for a long time. I’ve been ready to fight him for a long time.
