Former Big Brother presenter Davina McCall’s renewal of her wedding vows with her hubby of 15 years is a positive step in the direction. The sort of step all marriages should take. Dare I say all relationships too? Mccall married Matthew Robertson in 2000 and last year told of the challenges her marriage was going through. Last year , she revealed that her marriage was in a ‘tough’ place in the run up to her sports relief challenge and told the Mirror Newspaper ”when you are in your 20’s but have a tough six months,that’s a break up, but when you are married that’s nothing”.
The 47 year old who looks not a day over 30 shared the glorious news with us all via Instagram yesterday. The uploaded snap of the newlyweds was taken from outside the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Davina also revealed posted some nice picture snaps.
Amongst Davina snaps she revealed a funny little attribute that her and hubby featured at their renewals ceremony, one caption splashed: “The kids wrote our vows… It was Funny and more moving than I thought it would be.”
If she wasn’t fun enough already then that definitely bagged her the crown, what a cool mum she is! Wedding vows are important because they reaffirm the string commitments two people make to each other ’till death do us part”. Many marriages do not pass the test of time because many married couples still treat their marriages as though it were a teenage relationship or one of one of their past relationships.Marriage is meant to be a do or die thing, not one of those you can exit because of an argument.
In the renewal of her vows, Davina showed real quality. She reminded him of the sort of future she expects from her husband and equally expressed her desire and will to play her part in keeping her marriage thriving. Wimbledon born McCall came from a broken home and went to live with her grandparents at the tender age of 3 . Her mother in her own words was an ‘alcoholic’. She is definitely determined to break the cycle and succeed where her parents failed. She has already succeeded in her career so has already improved vastly on the poor foundations has parents laid for her. McCall was Channel 4’s flag bearer of Big brother for 10 years, between 2000 and 2010. The popular live television show was dropped later that year but was relaunched by Channel 5 the following year. Eventually leaving presenting and branching out into other television roles, she also featured in a sitcom, a documentary series and finally, her own chat show. She has come a long way. We wish her marriage the best. The renewal of her wedding vows are so golden.
